January 25, 20241 yr Kansas is my sleeper team this year. Return a lot of guys from last year and their head coach (Fitzgerald) is known as a very good JUCO recruiter. The Hawaiian 2B who hit like .800 against Texas is back. Also added a D2 transfer pitcher who can run it up to 97-98 and will probably be their closer. My bold prediction is they make a regional. Cincinnati TCU seems like they should be pretty salty this season. Also, the newcomers don't really bring much to the table, do they? Houston has fallen off the college baseball map, and they're picked to be the best of the bunch.
January 29, 20241 yr The hype level around Payton Tolle might be a little extreme. Good player. But he hit .281 in AAC play last year with an ERA over 5.00. I'll be interested to see how he looks on the mound. Edited January 29, 20241 yr by Hookem2147

February 17, 20241 yr Opening day, let’s do this. As far as I’m aware, baseball, softball, and wrestling are the only sports OSU is currently playing.
February 17, 20241 yr OSU loses at SHSU. Sorry, @'stache. OUsucks goes down Kansas with a bad loss. I guess these teams don't like playing in Texas. And Cincy looks as bad as we predicted. Edited February 17, 20241 yr by MuellerHorn

We’ll see how it goes against a mere mortal today. Edited February 17, 20241 yr by slorch
February 17, 20241 yr We replaced a lot, no idea if we’re any good yet. On a side note, SHSU’s stadium looked like dogshit on tv. It looked like a dirt infield with turf sliding boxes? The cameras were terrible too.
February 18, 20241 yr Voodc Player OU vs Tenn unless stream disappears. If issues, try different browsers. @WBT may be interested instead of the other game. Edited February 18, 20241 yr by torre
February 19, 20241 yr Bounce back day for the conference. No one lost, except Baylol (UCF with a no contest due to weather). Cincy probably got lucky their game was canceled.
February 19, 20241 yr Rebuilt pitching staff for OU looked pretty good this weekend. They brought 3 guys out of the pen who were pumping around 95 with good breaking balls. They have my attention a little bit. TCU is the opposite. They are fortunate they didn’t drop 2 of 3 to FGCU. All 3 starters got hit around and it was no fluke. 8.1 combined innings with 12 earned runs allowed. Edited February 19, 20241 yr by Hookem2147
February 19, 20241 yr What does "No Contest" mean on the Bryant/ UCF score up above? Called before 5th Inning was over? Edited February 19, 20241 yr by slorch

WIth rain in the forecast the series was changed from Fri-Sun to Friday, Saturday double-header. The first Saturday game was suspended in the top of the 5th inning due to rain (after a 5 hour rain delay that they did come back from). The plan was to resume on Sunday. That did not happen making the first game a non-contest. The second game was unable to be played and canceled. I'd assume that Bryant is not going to come back to make it up. UCF (1-0) plays @ Miami (3-0) today.
February 23, 20241 yr OU doesn't even have a CF camera operating for their home game today. The only camera view is from the press box behind home plate. Are we sure they are SEC ready? Edited February 23, 20241 yr by Hookem2147

February 28, 20241 yr Cincinnati is horrible. It’s a shame they are one of the two teams we don’t play. I also think WVU is pretty bad this year and they are the other team not on the schedule.

Pretty sure we then beat IU to move on to a super. Was that the game Shugart saved the day?
