Everything sounds great in a Mexican radio announcer's voice. Those motherfuckers love life, every word hitting like fresh rivets from a dude who just found out his 20-year-old mistress is going to name her baby after him and this one will bring him pride, hombre, not like that slacker poet gorducho ese sitting on the sofa at home playing sus bloop bloop bloop videojueguiiiitos to' el pinche día weyyy.

Yeah. So when I taught Spanish, and Tyler and Kendra would mope through their readings, I'd stop them, and ask them to get in touch with their inner Mexican radio announcers. Dunno if it helped, but at least I was less bored.

I waited tables at Convict Hill Restaurant a jillion years ago.  While I was there, they instituted an AYCE fried shrimp night.  In order to have sufficient available fried shrimp to reload plates, they just kept frying batches and dumping them into a big metal bin under a heat lamp where the rest of the food orders would come up.  I'd stand there waiting on my other plates (a steak, meatloaf, whatever).....and pop fried shrimp into my mouth by the dozen.  Seriously, I'd eat probably 40 shrimp a shift every night we ran that special.

I was either never caught, or nobody who saw me gave a shit.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said in Michigan Thursday that he wants to require insurance companies to cover in vitro fertilization. A GOP state lawmaker who attended the event told me afterward, that he wouldn't support such a mandate. https://t.co/kc0eL5NCGk

he is the author of the GOP paradigm shift that says you can’t be against the other person on ideas and policy, you have to personally demonize your opponent.   I am not saying that he invented negative campaigning, but he did insist that his contract with America troops start personally attacking Democrats and accusing them of horrific things to gain an electoral advantage.   It was so tremendously effective that it was adopted universally by the GOP.   Karl Rove fine tuned it - in that he discovered inventing bullshit wedge issues - like flag burning laws - allowed the GOP to accuse Democrats of being anti-American…. (Instead of being advocates of protecting constitutionally permissible rights. )

Can you imagine MAGA freaking out over the idea of Ronald Reagan being good friend Tip O’Neil?

Even when things would get heated between them politically, they were still friends “after 6 o’clock” as O’Neil would say.

Gingrich rising to power as the Clintons came in wrecked all of that.

I’ve been on the ground registering student voters nearly everyday since move-in. Would we really be able to fill a room of over 200 students at 6pm on a Tuesday to learn about the political process if we were disinterested in our candidates? I don’t think so. https://t.co/PMnY6nmJrq

Trump: I don't know if you heard the latest statistic that of the jobs these people created, which is very little, every single job was taken, about 107%, by illegal immigrants. There has been no job creation from them.

Trump says he wasn't aware until moments ago that his event in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is a town hall, not a speech. (It has been advertised as a town hall for days.)

Trump: Some people don't eat bacon anymore. This was caused by their horrible energy. Wind. They want wind all over the place. When it doesn't blow, we have a problem.

Wonder if he means to include egg donation in the give away. We had to go to Europe for that because American women and the companies they bank their eggs charge a LOT for them. And in Czechia there are laws in place to limit it.
So much money in fees built in to take advantage of couples desperate to have a family.

Turnip is just imitating his hero, Hitler.  In 1933 labor leaders and unions asked to have May 1 as a holiday to celebrate labor.  Hitler approved the holiday for union members, then outlawed labor unions the next day.  Turnip's plan would offer free IVF, then outlaw it.

Seems like this is the general vibe

Bash is embarrassingly bad. Harris owns the screen completely. That's it.
the CNN interview summarized:Dana Bash: why did you [right wing talking point]?Harris/Walz: because [answer they've given 5+ times]Dana Bash: but is it because [right wing talking point]? have you changed your mind on [right wing talking point]?
Dana Bash and CNN are throwing every Trump talking point at Harris and Walz word-for-word and they are handling it perfectly and hitting it out of the park. I couldn’t ever imagine Trump sitting down for an interview remotely like this.

The panel was pretty much “didn’t move the needle, didn’t advance the ball or fumble it” type of analysis. She was in that interview who she’s been over the past month and that’s about all that she needed to do

Yeah, that felt like an interview where the goal was to "give them nothing'. Stock answers, keep it low key emotionally, don't create any viral moments.

I think all these TV interviews are worthless, and apparently so does the Kamala campaign. Good. Fuck CNN and the rest of the media that are begging for this shit just to get clicks or a ratings bump.

She is going to completely steal this idea within the next 24 hours.

Nah.
I have to think a high percentage of Trump voters hate him but don’t care because they think he will enforce the fiscal policy they want. 8 years ago they voted for him to end Obamacare, now he is pledging to expand it. Shit, four years ago, Medicare 4 All was assumed to be a loser. Now he is talking picking up all costs for an elective procedure.

Maybe it’s not a big deal because no one believes he will do it.
