I thought she meant my 11 year old daughter.
Does Kamala like Chili's? Someone find out.

When she was at Howard, she frequented a dive popular with students, Ben’s Chili Bowl. And she grew chile peppers at the VP’s residence. That’s enough of a connection.
Chili’s is the official “if Kamala wins, we celebrate here” HQ.

During her days as a prosecutor tackling major cartels in California, Kamala Harris often found herself working late into the night, poring over case files and strategizing her next move. It was during these marathon sessions that she developed an unwavering affection for Chili’s baby back ribs—a comfort food that fueled her determination and reminded her of simpler joys amid the intensity of her job. The smoky, savory taste became her signature indulgence, a symbol of resilience and reward after relentless battles for justice. As she rose through the ranks and contemplated her broader purpose, Harris realized that those moments of fierce dedication, coupled with a hint of barbecue-sauce-stained resolve, were what prepared her to aspire for even greater leadership. Inspired by those late nights spent fighting for justice and savoring her favorite ribs, she decided to run for president, determined to bring that same tenacity and humanity to the nation’s highest office.

So, Kamala goes on SNL for non-political air time.

The solution for equal airtime is to give Trump time after Sunday night football where he is allowed to lie unchecked? "We are heading for a depression under Harris/Biden?"

I just received this from ChatGPT using the prompt “Create the origin story for Kamala Harris becoming president thanks to her love for Chili’s”

Kamala Harris’s journey to the presidency began on an ordinary evening at a local Chili’s in her hometown of Oakland, California. As she sat with friends, sharing a platter of sizzling fajitas, a spirited conversation erupted around the table about the challenges facing their community. The discussion flowed from education inequities to healthcare access, and the laughter and camaraderie transformed into a passionate debate about the need for change.

Inspired by the diverse voices around her, Kamala realized that these conversations, often held in casual settings, reflected the heart of democracy. The warmth of the restaurant, filled with families and friends, struck her as a microcosm of America—a place where everyone deserved a seat at the table.

That night, she made a vow: to channel her frustrations into action. With a renewed sense of purpose, she envisioned a future where every voice mattered and where she could be a catalyst for change. The experience solidified her commitment to public service, ultimately leading her to pursue a career in law, advocacy, and politics.

Years later, as she stood on the national stage, she often recalled that pivotal moment at Chili’s, where the spark of inspiration ignited a lifelong mission to uplift her community and advocate for justice. It reminded her that every great journey begins with a conversation—and sometimes, a plate of sizzling fajitas.

Shart thread will be blowing up on Wednesday evening.

I have jury duty on Wed. Does chili’s deliver to courtrooms? Will Judge Hand approve? Will I be wasting the court’s time?

I must have missed the joke. Is Kamala a Chili’s fan or something?

It's that hilarious thing some do when a stupid subject comes up. You see, it's hysterically funny to keep talking it about for pages then referring to it in other contexts. I'm busting a gut here.

So - I’m ashamed to report that I was not able to complete the 15 pre-purchased cocktails per day on this, my first day.  But I have had - ah - several.  And I had about a 12 ounce pour Pinot Noir I took back to my room from dinner.

So I’m rereading Paul Revere’s Ride by David Fischer, when I saw this quote:

‘Milo Kundera has recently reminded us that “the struggle against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting.” ‘

All of these women have a firm memory of their rights pre-Dobbs, and they have definitely decided not to forget.

Well Trump's obviously not a Texas fan since he's not familiar with the obvious flaws in his argument known as Case McCoy and Chris Simms.

Also, more contemporary, may I introduce Bronny James as evidence?

The fact that AI already knows how to do a pretty good “Years Later” jump cut is kinda concerning… gonna be writing full green lit CBS sitcom scripts in no time…

is it possible to get a version of this with more Aubrey Plaza in it by chance?

Are we as a country so fucking brain broken that while the stock market is at an all time high, a candidate for president can run on a message that America hasn’t been worse than 1984?

I mean, we’ve had recessions, a tech bubble, an earth shattering terrorist attacl, a multiple decades war, a war that was based on lies and destabilized the Middle East, a near collapse of the capitalistic order in 08, a global pandemic that cause a stock market crash not seen since the 08 crash, millions of Americans dead bc of Covid, and the guy throwing ficking rocks is the guy during the Covid collapse and is responsible for the terrible response to it!

Donald Trump has under 48 hours in the remainder of his entire life to experience the joy of having hope.

Bizzaro world update for a mid-40s white in GA:

Bizzaro point 1. I mentioned about a week ago that a Black college student of mine was asking trusted adults about whom to vote for. He’s committed to the biblical framework for voting, so despite his general inclination to vote Kamala, he was leaning Trump because trusted adults in his Baptist circle can’t see the open wickedness past the abortion issue. We share a similar faith background, so I presented bible-based reasons for voting for Kamala and left it at that. No pressure, just pointing him to a few bible verses and trusting him to make a thoughtful decision.

He asked me to take him to the polling location on Friday. I didn’t pry; we only discussed the ease of the GA voting process. Today he told me that he voted Kamala.

Bizzaro point 2. My wife and I voted the first few days of early voting, but tonight, she started expressing buyers remorse and talking about how maybe Trump would be the better choice. I’m note sure what social media propaganda got a hold of her, but I had to remind her that what she’s saying is insane. She’s smart, but the algorithm knows what buttons to push.

So here I am, a guy who, based on where I live and go to church, what I look like, my age, background, regularly voting in Republican primaries, etc., is assumed to be a Trump voter, trying to help members of two historically marginalized groups rationalize and justify their votes against further repression. People are strange, propaganda is strong, and Charlie Strong was right about social media.
