Interesting and fun historical fact that Lobo would appreciate (RIP 😪)

Only once in US history has a President, their VP and their VP's VP all been elected president - Washington, then his VP Adams, and then his VP Jefferson.  Which was under the old system where the VPs were elected separately.

Eisenhower, his VP Nixon and then his VP Ford all served as president, but we know Ford was not elected.

We have a chance to do it again - Obama, his VP Biden, and his VP Harris.

Harris is simply bringing home and solidifying the Obama coalition.

I don't know why you would waste time highlighting the character of someone running against this piece of shit.

I think you have run some ads really calling him out.

Like one that just says who wants an old, senile, hateful, racist, rapist, felon, weird, con man as President. While showing a bunch of imagery of the above in the background.

Over. And over. And over. And over.

But what do I know.

I think they could tap Adam McKay and Brian Cox to make a spot reminding voters that Trump is a moron.

Reminding voters that he can't keep them safe, he wouldn't have cared about COVID if it had struck in 2017 or 2018, the only serious person he had advising him on COVID was a holdover from previous administrations, and Trump ran him off.

A montage of all the clowns he appointed, and all the clowns he wants to appoint.

The radical right republicans are freaking out about Harris code-switching. It’s hilarious because it’s White people claiming her doing this is “weird, odd, or fake” when the group she’s code-switching for doesn’t give a shit and knows exactly why she’s doing it.

They.

Have.

Nothing.

This is beyond sad. Like, “JD Vance trying to interact with normal humans” sad.

About that RFK endorsement plan..,

This is why Trump is panicking about RFK being on the North Carolina ballot, and why RFK is suing to have his name removed (it’s too late). I’m tellin ya, this could be the difference. https://t.co/btDNVe3M5a
New: Michigan judge quickly rejects RFK Jr. attempt to get off the ballot after nomination. "Elections are not just games, and the Secretary of State is not obligated to honor the whims of candidates for public office." https://t.co/SFueepItNO

It would not shock me in the slightest if the Supreme Court ruled that all RFK votes in all states should be added to the Trump vote counts.  Plus 10% extra votes just cause people may have been confused by the ballot.  Fox News will then say this is the right thing to do and CNN will try and play neutral on it except Scott Jennings who will cry about how great the Supreme Court is to do something so bold.

Worth mentioning that 3 current Supreme Court justices took part in the Brooks Brothers riot: Kavanaugh, Barrett, and Roberts.

edit - they worked on the legal side of the bid to gift the election to Bush but the part about the riot is...

I was curious about this too. Based on this info I think he just did things the hard way by enlisting in the Marine Corps right out of high school.

https://www.mccaininstitute.org/about/global-advisory-council/james-mccain/

Quote

James McCain enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 in 2006. He served with 1st Battalion 1st marines as an infantry rifleman in Iraq during the surge of 2007. After leaving the USMC he received his bachelors from Arizona State University and rejoined the Arizona Army National Guard. He served in Afghanistan in 2014 as a squad leader in the infantry and oversaw the Guardian Angel missions around Kabul. After returning home he received his master’s degree in history from Trinity College Dublin. James currently has been accepted to attend OCS and become an officer in U.S. Army Intelligence. He lives with his wife Holly and two sons, Luke and Killian, in Sedona.

Trump's right. Don't need anything to come across his desk.

Enforce Comstock. It's on page 243 of Project 2025, the plan Trump's never heard of.

Lyndon Johnson and the "Johnson Treatment"

Black and white photo of Lyndon Johnson leaning his head and starring intently at Theodore Green, who is backing away Lyndon Johnson and Theodore Green / George Tames, 1957 /

In 1955, with only seven years of seniority, Johnson was elected Senate majority leader. Through his successful courting of the “old bulls” of the “southern caucus,” particularly Richard Russell of Georgia, Johnson controlled the agenda of the Senate as no majority leader has before or since.

Another element of his mastery was the “Johnson treatment,” as displayed here with Senator Theodore Green of Rhode Island. Newspaper columnist Mary McGrory described it as “an incredible, potent mixture of persuasion, badgering, flattery, threats, reminders of past favors and future advantages”; Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee recalled feeling that “a St. Bernard had licked your face for an hour, [and] had pawed you all over”; and Hubert Humphrey described it as a “tidal wave.” Johnson’s most notable victory as majority leader was the passage of the 1957 Civil Rights Act, the first such legislation since Reconstruction.

Rachael Penman of the National Museum of Crime and Punishment discussed this photograph by George Tames, along with other images of Lyndon Johnson, at a Face-to-Face portrait talk. The 1957 photograph is on view at the National Portrait Gallery, in the exhibition “Presidents in Waiting” on the museum’s second floor.
