Could be, as those planes also carried airmail in those days.

We didn’t get much detailed news in Taiwan back then. Our only English language newspaper was the China Post, which was no more than 4 or 6 pages…..and very sketchy on the quality of reporting.

An 87-year-old quest to find Amelia Earhart's missing plane looked like it had finally come to an end earlier this year.

Following an extensive expedition, explorers at South Carolina firm Deep Sea Vision said they'd found an 'aircraft-shaped object' in the same region of the Pacific where the legendary aviator vanished in 1937.

However, a second expedition now reveals the object is not an aircraft at all, but simply a bunch of rocks.

Jesus Christ. There's nothing classified about her disappearance unless fuel exhaustion is a secret.

You clearly don’t understand the long reach of the Deep State and antifa.

I've read speculation that she was asked by US intelligence to, while conveniently flying over some important islands and bases held by Imperial Japan, maybe snap a few photos.  That wouldn't shock me in the least.

Based on her flying ability, it's a wonder that she didn't crash in Rabaul or Truk Lagoon.
