this has been in the works for a while and i think was part of the viacom content shove.  hopefully not because of quality issues.  i'm a big andrew scott fan.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm so tired of trailers that give away the entire plot

ohhhh seeing as how i've watched The Talented Mr. Ripley at least 20 times and think it's Matt Damon's best work and i own/have read Patricia Highsmith's entire Ripley series...I AM EXCITE!! 😁

Me, too. He's in that generation of actors/actresses that came up through the ranks about ten-fifteen years ago and are hitting their stride. I love to see it--the ones who've developed and improved and made the most with whatever they've been tasked. I don't know how the biz works, but if artists (writers, directors, actors, etc) mentor the younger gens, I expect it doesn't make the business any less cutthroat but it does give those of us who watch so much pleasure to see talent unleashed.

Imagine my disappointment in not seeing Jack Palance as the lead.

Mostly enjoying it. Through 4 episodes. I like the brooding, dark tone. I’m surprised it hasn’t received more attention on surly. It was universally praised, and was nominated for 5 Emmys.

While Andrew Scott is excellent he lacks any charisma of Damon’s Ripley. I kept asking myself, why would Dickie be friends with this guy?

I’ve also enjoyed Johnny Flynn’s portrayal of Dickie. He’s not electric like Jude Law, but he nails a chill, privileged American ex pat.

I know the Freddie casting bullshit is coming, but I’ll stick with it.

It has been a while since we watched it, but thought it was really good.  Scott is solid...super creepy.
