Here is the @cybertruck 35 second recall fix at the Cyber takeover event

LMFAO a fuckin pop rivet after the fact? That's a hell of a factory bodge job to fix a major design flaw. Like, sure, that's a perfectly fine fix - but shouldn't that have been thought of before assembly lines started?

If they can't even make a fucking gas pedal, what other unknown flaws are lurking?

He is not making a gas pedal, he is making a disruptor pedal.

And gas savings, apparently

Considering the likelihood of downtime for recalls those savings are just going to go up

I did price and drive a Prius Prime, but it's tiny inside and has the lowest roofline of any car I drove. Also has a weird gauge panel that's blocked by the steering wheel. Cost was about $48k + ticket to Colorado and driving back bc there's no stock in TX.

We saw the videos of the Tesla hitting the child running in the crosswalk. Why didn’t it avoid hitting a stationary child in the middle of the street?

Ya gotta admit, the Tesla targeting system is remarkably consistent.pic.twitter.com/pJ1ZljENpS

If you don't mind me asking, what was the final price after credits and whatnot?

Do you mean "how much did you donate to Putin?"

Lolwtf it's beeping at the driver, so it knows there's something there(?), and then plows through the mannequin. Can't wait to hear the spin on this one from guad lol

BBC reporting on it too

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c9ezp0lv039o

The company says an "unapproved change" in the production of the pedal meant "lubricant" was used in its assembly, which means the pad did not stick properly to the pedal.

I'm laughing that they're implying they have a change management process over at Tesla....

Don’t you get it? This test is unfair!!! A real child would run from a car!!! That’s not fair to have them slightly offset like that. A real kid could duck!!!

Like somebody said, imagine Mercedes or BMW doing that.

Hopefully the manager in charge of lubrication and adhesives is fired for mixing the two up.

Whatever happens, follow all manufacturer's instructions when washing the car afterwards.

He probably was after him and his wife got out of the hospital after some sex related injuries due to the same mixup.

With all of the drama surrounding them if they get rained upon, get road grime on them, bird shit, etc., you'd think they'd spend $50 or $100 for some fucking plastic wrap.  I've seen cheap-ass Toyotas a third the price of those get the full wrap treatment on car haulers.

And they were moving at freeway speeds with driver assist and zero issue.

I'm guessing they were being shipped on a Sunday because all the weather in the area Saturday. Probably headed to Nashville and it's clear through. Plastic wrap is expensive bro.

I figured these were recalled vehicles heading back to the factory.

Tesla drops FSD to $8,000: https://electrek.co/2024/04/21/tesla-lowers-price-of-full-self-driving-to-8000-down-from-12000/

Quote

In addition to the price drop, Tesla has eliminated “Enhanced Autopilot” as an option, which previously cost $6,000. For owners who already have enhanced autopilot, the cost to upgrade to FSD is now $2,000, down from $6,000.

And dropped the S, X, and Y models by $2,000

https://electrek.co/2024/04/19/tesla-cuts-prices-by-2000-in-us-model-y-back-to-its-lowest-price-ever/

Not sure why it didn't drop the 3's by $2,000 so Musk could make a joke about S/3/X/Y being $2,000 cheaper.  Because naming the car models to spell "SEXY" is funny to a grown man child from South Africa.

My old Subaru easily handled more “savage” “off road trails” than that.

Those hardcore extreme Cybertrucks are pushing around 7,000 and I don’t see them doing all that well in real mud.

Earnings are expected to look terrible, and valuation is still very high compared to other auto makers.  I expect the share price to go sub 100 in the next few months as reality on over supply sets in.

Prices slashed; now’s the time to get one if you ever wanted one, I guess.

Gotta suck if you’ve bought one in the last 6 months,
