Damn, I almost forgot about the origin of the term.

And while I would not call Dogefather much of a stretch as “unique” since it’s a play on an album title, it also predates Elon’s modern use. It’s likely to be found much earlier.

See the area code in handle.  Fuck this guy to pieces. I vote to build a camp for him and DOGE people in Cameron County.

This whole place will need to be bulldozed when it’s all over. Anyone involved in promoting it needs to go to struggle sessions.

But there are vehicles available for 18-22k.  Just not like for like. You pay the Elon tax either in cash or in vehicle.  But those folks shouldn’t say they CAN’T do it.

Sure, they CAN do it.   But for many people, it will directly cost them thousands of dollars.

And what does that loss of thousands actually do?   Tesla still has still been paid or will get paid for that vehicle.

Re-selling a vehicle that has already been purchased from Tesla makes zero financial impact to the company and Musk.

Attributing some sort of moral failure or lack of empathy to people who  do not sell their Teslas is pretty unfair.  Asking people to eat thousands of dollars to make a completely symbolic gesture is unrealistic.  It doesn’t make someone a bad person if they choose not to accept financial hardship in order to meet your arbitrary standard for ideological purity or political solidarity.

Don't fuck with West Lake Hills. Which one of you is Mr. Hemmer????

At first, residents of the upscale cul-de-sac in West Lake Hills, Texas, did not know who had moved into the 6,900-square-foot, six-bedroom mansion next door.
Then construction workers arrived to erect a 16-foot chain-link fence around the $6 million property, which is one of four homes on the leafy street. They also installed an outward-facing camera. Next, a fleet of cars — many of them Teslas — began parking on the street. Three times a day, a shift change signaled security personnel coming and going at the house. Once, the driver of a passing car shouted late at night that he was looking for a party at “E’s house.”
Mr. Hemmer, who has long owned a Tesla, grew so frustrated with his neighbor that he began flying a drone over the house to check for city violations, and he keeps a video camera trained on the property around the clock. Last year, he complained to West Lake Hills officials about Mr. Musk’s fence, the traffic and how he thought the owner was operating a security business from the property.
Mr. Musk’s security team also contacted the West Lake Hills Police Department about Mr. Hemmer, according to city records. One security official accused Mr. Hemmer last year of standing naked in the street, according to the records.
Mr. Hemmer denied that he was naked and said he was on his property wearing black underwear. On another night, he said, he was walking his dog fully clothed and stopped when he suddenly needed to urinate — which Mr. Musk’s camera captured.
“The cameras got me,” Mr. Hemmer said. “It’s scary they have guys sitting and watching me pee.”

Hopefully we're headed for the first recorded instance in history of a HOA being used for good.

And… these kinds of neighbors are why we passed on buying in Westlake.

About those Doggy savings ... 🤔

From some analysts, I need to find something that corroborates this, there is word that Musk's Doggy group has already increased the deficit.

Last week I was on a flight for the first time for the year. I would have to guess that MAGA types would be up in arms about United going against the President.

Just to sum that up, we are looking at about $135 billion in transaction costs for DOGE’s actions so far, and perhaps $500 billion in lost tax revenue this year, plus a ton of litigation costs to be determined and a drastic reduction in services. Which means that even if you give DOGE the benefit of the doubt as to the accuracy of its figures, and stick to conservative estimates, we just spent $635 billion plus to save $160 billion all while putting hundreds of thousands of people out of work and causing uncountable numbers of deaths abroad.

How Tesla is quietly rebranding the Cybertruck

When Tesla launched the Cybertruck in 2023, it was the product of four years of hype. The boxy electric pickup was the company's first new model since 2020. Kim Kardashian, Pharrell Williams, and Justin Bieber were spotted riding around in it. With a million people on the truck's reservation list and a $120,000 price tag, it quickly became a status symbol.

Less than two years later, the waitlist has disappeared. Trucks are piling up in sales lots. Fewer than 50,000 vehicles have been delivered. Some owners have become political targets thanks to CEO Elon Musk's association with President Donald Trump.

Enter a quiet rebrand.

Over the past few months, Tesla has moved to position the Cybertruck as a working man's vehicle — less DeLorean, more Ford F-150. The company updated its website, ditching an other-worldly aesthetic for images that feature the truck hauling equipment and an Airstream trailer. And sales workers at the company told Business Insider it's become increasingly difficult to move the truck off sales lots. The vehicle, they said, needs to appeal to the traditional truck buyer.

"Pitching it to truck people is more about the functionality," said one salesperson who works in the South. "They want to know how much it can tow, how much can fit in the truck bed."

———

Tesla has sold less than 50,000 Cybertrucks.  Last year, Ford sold 765,000 F-series, and in 2023 they sold 750,000.

Dumb motherfuckers usually don’t find out how dumb they are until they get a moment of clarity while bleeding out from some stupid fucking thing they did, or the bank is repossessing their mobile home, or their wife serves them with divorce papers because they were banging the kid’s babysitter, or when they are reeling from the aftershock of a police taser.

And many (most?) dumb motherfuckers lack the self-awareness to recognize it, and humility to admit it.

Huh.

I'm gonna suggest that as long as your enterprise is defined by and run based on the whims of a fucking psychopathic sociopathic fucking idiot who consistently responds to press inquiries with

I, however, will happily offer my consulting services for the low-low price of $50 million (paid up front, of course):

"Brisketexan, how do we get people to stop thinking of X as a platform for psychopathic dicks, and start thinking of it as a platform that's not all about being a psychopathic dick?"

"Well....and you should write this down....first, your CEO and primary content creator should stop being a total psychopathic dick, and he should stop embracing and boosting his army of psychopathic dicks.  There is no 'next step.'  That's it.  Now, if you need me, I'll be at my villa in France, but don't bother calling, I won't answer."

How the fuck have they only sold 50 k of these fuckers, and are all of them in West Austin?. On any typical 8 mile drive to my project in Bee Cave I will see at least 10 of these fucking things.  A lot them are wrapped and several are wrapped with business logos.  How fucking niave do you have to be to advertise on one of these and think "this will help my business!"

Had a good laugh watching one of my clients neighbors get his into his garage.  Multi-point turn to approach garage, then all passengers had to get out because the pos barely fits. Never hauls or tows anything.  Nice guy; huge dork.

Considering Tesla has offices so close to Austin, I think it makes sense. Ive got 4-5 of them I see around my neighborhood here in Houston.

If a service provider showed up to my house driving one of those things, I would tell them to fuck right off and enjoy the newly found free time before their next appointment.

Someone on this thread made the observation that you never see a woman in the passenger seat. It's always just a guy by himself. Since I read that I always look, and it's almost always the case. I did see a couple get out of one at HEB the other day. Mid-50s guy, short, bald, grey goatee, body by TRT, and his Asian wife/gf with giant fake tits and face full of fillers and botox.
