Yeah, it is dead. On the other side, who really wants to do business with us?

And back to Musk and Burma. There are one or two sanctiouns in place. From AI.

The US government has imposed sanctions on Myanmar, most recently in response to the 2021 military coup. These sanctions target individuals and entities involved in the coup, as well as those who support the military regime. The sanctions also include restrictions on trade and investment with Myanmar.

Key aspects of the US sanctions on Myanmar:
  • Executive Order 14014:
This order, issued in 2021, was the basis for the new sanctions regime following the coup.
  •
  • Targeted Sanctions:
The sanctions target individuals and entities linked to the military regime, including leaders, officials, and businesses.
  •
  • Asset Freezes:
The sanctions freeze assets of designated individuals and entities in the US.
  •
  • Trade Restrictions:
The US has imposed restrictions on trade and investment with Myanmar, including restrictions on exports of goods and services.
  •
  • Recent Sanctions:
In January 2024, the US government announced sanctions on individuals and entities linked to the military regime, three years after the coup.
  •
  • Ongoing Actions:
The US continues to issue business advisories and expand sanctions, particularly targeting those supporting the regime's violence and repression.
  •
Impact of the sanctions:

The sanctions aim to limit the military regime's access to funds and other resources it can use to sustain its power and commit atrocities.

  •
  • The sanctions are intended to put pressure on the military regime to end its human rights abuses and engage in a peaceful political transition.
  •
  • The US government has stated its commitment to supporting the Burmese people in their pursuit of freedom and democracy.
    •
    Examples of recent sanctions:
    • The US has prohibited financial services to MOGE, a state-owned oil and gas company that is a key source of revenue for the military regime.
  •
  • The US has sanctioned additional jet fuel suppliers in Myanmar, further limiting the regime's access to resources.
  •
  • In May 2025, the US imposed sanctions on a Myanmar warlord, his two sons, and the militia he leads, for facilitating cyber scams, human trafficking, and cross-border smuggling.
  •
For more detailed information, you can consult the following resources:
  •
  • U.S. Department of State: The website of the U.S. Department of State provides information on the Burma sanctions program.

1. While announcing he is donating his remaining fortune—over $100 billion—to his Foundation, along with news that the foundation will spend down all of its funds and close within the next 20 years, Bill Gates accused Elon Musk of “killing the world’s poorest children” through misguided USAID cuts. https://bit.ly/42PsqDF

We need to just go ahead and repeal the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, it's embarrassingly hypocritical at this point.

From Wikipedia:

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977 (FCPA) (15 U.S.C. § 78dd-1, et seq.) is a United States federal law that prohibits U.S. citizens and entities from bribing foreign government officials to benefit their business interests.

Explain how this isn't exactly what our government is doing directly.

Trump is bribing foreign governments to benefit Starlink

Trump doesn't own Starlink, Elon does

LOOPHOLE

(Just ignore all the bribing Trump does that directly puts money into Trump Co)

I think technically they are extorting the foreign countries, not bribing them.

Anybody ever read that Philip K. Dick story called "Autofac"?  Post industrial apocalypse brought about by automated factories that don't stop making and delivering shit no one needs, completely stripping earth of its resources. Unused worthless crap piles up as humans wage a guerrilla war on the autofacs.  Ultimately, fighting over the last few resources left, the autofacs go to war with each other and end up destroying each other. Humans investigate the ruins of the nearest autofac, and discover it is self-replicating.

One of Amazon's early forays into Television was a show called Electric Dreams, which had Philip K. Dick stories as it tried to be like Black Mirror. This was one of the episodes.

People saying Elon's doggies are reducing waste and saving taxpayers wads of cash, you've been misled by actual lies and exaggerations. The Times has receipts, yet DOGE keeps feeding the low information silo to inject MAGA sauce into fans who may push favorability up. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/09/us/politics/doge-musk-contracts-agencies.html?unlocked_article_code=1.F08.qQb-.LWpNmuUf5EVk&smid=url-share

LOL - basically everyone cancelled their contracts. Doggie walked out the door and they just reinstated them. 44 in all that have been found (they noted it could be more). One contract was reinstated 2 hours after the cancellation.

Hey Google, How many people died from Ford Pinto Fires?

Quote

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigation found that 27 people died in Ford Pinto fires between 1970 and mid-1977 in rear-impact crashes that resulted in a fire. Additionally, 24 Pinto occupants sustained non-fatal burn injuries during these incidents

Thanks Google. How many people have died in Tesla Fires?

Quote

While it's difficult to pinpoint an exact number, reports indicate that over 83 people have died in Tesla fires. Some sources suggest a higher number, with one Reddit post mentioning over 130 fire deaths. Additionally, a Business Insider article states that 62 people have died in incidents where a Tesla caught fire, and 95 total deaths have been attributed to either fires or Autopilot.
