February 7, 20241 yr These were my favorites (at least as much as I can recall), not necessarily the "best" as works of art. 2023 -- Oppenheimer 2022 -- Emily the Criminal [Banshees is a close second. 2022 generally sucked in terms of movies, IMO.] 2021 -- Belfast [2021 was pretty bad as well] 2020 -- Nomadland 2019 -- OUATIH/Ford v. Ferrari 2018 -- The Favourite 2017 -- The Post 2016 -- Hell or High Water [really enjoyed La La Land as well] 2015 -- Sicario 2014 -- Whiplash/The Homesman 2013 -- American Hustle Edited February 7, 20241 yr by Carl Spackler

February 7, 20241 yr I probably should have at least mentioned The Revenant for 2015. Great movie. It got a little too metaphysical at times, but just the bear mauling scene and fight scene between Leo and Tom Hardy by themselves made it worth the price of admission, IMO.

Here’s my list of favorite movies from the past decade: 2013: Gravity – Stunning visuals and a gripping story. 2014: Interstellar – Mind-blowing sci-fi with an emotional core. 2015: Mad Max: Fury Road – Non-stop action and incredible cinematography. 2016: La La Land – A beautiful mix of music, romance, and dreams. 2017: Get Out – A unique thriller with a powerful message. 2018: Avengers: Infinity War – Epic storytelling and unforgettable moments. 2019: Parasite – A masterpiece blending humor, drama, and suspense. 2020: Soul – A heartfelt exploration of life and purpose. 2021: Dune – Visually stunning and faithful to the novel. 2022: Top Gun: Maverick – A perfect mix of nostalgia and action. Movies are such a great way to reflect on each year! For those looking to publish their creative content or reviews, Harvard Publications Hub is a fantastic platform for sharing your ideas. Would agree with several of these. But I'm surprised how few times Edge of Tomorrow was listed for 2014. Interstellar was great, but for pure entertainment, comedy, thrills etc. it's Edge of Tomorrow for me hands down. I can re-watch it about every 4 months and each time I'm enthralled with the story, acting, editing, pace and overall work.
