I don't think "Winter" is a big factor in either of those two

it’s possible i misinterpreted the thread premise, but they're both cold, dark movies which take place in the winter time.

Fun fact---'The Thing' takes place in August in Antarctica.  Or their peak Winter.  Which is also kinda what we think of as Summer.  But it was done in Los Angeles and Alaska in August, which is actually summer.

The duration of daylight in their Antarctica is not remotely accurate.  But then, it's hard to focus on that when you're young and the movie is scaring the every living shit out of you.  Fuck me, that was a fun movie.  Guy warning you in Norwegian out front shoulda told ya/

That's the first one that came to my mind after checking OP's list.

Fargo and The Thing are the best movies on your initial list. The Shining is a classic and it’s beautifully shot but I like Fargo and The Thing better.

The Thing is my favorite of the bunch but I’d allow that reasonable minds could differ if someone had Fargo or the Shining at the top.

Nice attempt at ruining the thread for everyone but you left out The Revenant.

Also can't believe no one has mentioned Scorcher 6: Global Meltdown.

Violent Night needs to be on this list.  Good call on A Simple Plan.

It's cold in Antarctica in the summer too.  Are we sure The Thing was set in winter at all?  Movie might be dq'd on a technicality.

What kind of shitty OP starts a thread and lists 40 movies in the first 20 posts? Change your avatar you don’t deserve that Snatch reference lol.
