We just cancelled Netflix but I might have to buy a month for this. It's supposed to be Oscar caliber.

This fucking high school catfish shit wtf.

I was kind of hoping dad would beat his wifes ass right in front of the cop.

Also how much money are they paying these people to actually agree to be in this fucking doc. None of these morons should have agreed to this shit.

Untamed with Eric Bana was a good watch. A little cheesy and predictable at points, but was a good watch.

Is was worth it for the scenery, but not much else. Although the opening climbing scene was well done.

Probably my main pet peeve: According to Bana "The park is bigger than Rhode Island," but he can ride a horse and be anywhere in the park in half an hour.

Yeah, this looks really good.

High School Catfish

Spoiler

Yeah this is mind blowing. I am so sad for that poor girl. She unfortunately doesn't seem to realize how scarred she is going to be from this. As a Dad, it also made me very upset that the Dad seemed to be more concerned with his wife having fake jobs and lying to him than he was for his daughter. That pales in comparison to the anger towards the Mom, of course. I just wish she had a better advocate.

Saw Caught Stealing yesterday.  That is a lot of movie and kind of a mess tonally, but it was ultimately a fun time and a bit of a throwback.  I could see it being the perfect movie for a couple of drinks on a Friday night.  It moves and is twisting and turning until the end.

I thought everyone's behavior was strange. Even when first told that it was mom doing it, the daughter was still hugging on her. That was odd.

Definitely. Though I was thinking the daughter wasn't really understanding/processing what happened with the way the detective explained it. An adult definitely would have, but I don't think she did at first. Still, her being kind of aloof/forgiving about it after the fact is very strange. I felt so awful for that poor kid. No real friends, Dad didn't seem to be close to her, no siblings, she probably is all alone except for her mom. What an absolutely heinous thing to to do anyone's child, let alone your own. Man people are fucked up, what a shitty world we live in.

The mom has a massive personality disorder the way she deflects and blames others., probably narcissistic with the whole cyber munchausen’s by proxy. The fact that her and the daughter were willing to make this documentary despite how incredibly humiliating it was for their family tells you that the apple probably doesn’t fall too far from the tree.

I also thought Khloe’s parents were a couple of assholes. Sounds like the dad was on the police force with the sheriff and they had an ax to grind with him.

Do we know for sure if the mom started the crazy texts? It wasn't really answered in the doc, although that one cop said he just assumed the mom sent all of them.

Haven't watched it yet but the fact that every wine mom on my facebook feed is talking about it makes me not want to.

Speaking of moms or mums.  Con Mum runs a close second to High School Catfish mom.

Watched the last 20 minutes of Catfish again. Not spoilering the first part but I will the second.

Sophie's mom is a MILF

Spoiler

The comment from Khloe's parents (who I agree with whoever said it above, yeah, I don't get great vibes from them) where the mom said that she told someone that 'Shawn and Lauren are going to play the victims in this and get off scott free' - what is the implication here? Shawn and Lauren knew it was her the whole time and played dumb? How would that benefit them? That's certainly an interesting angle but not one that struck me as plausible during the rest of the documentary.

officially the cops didn’t say she did but it’s pretty understood everyone knows she was the culprit from the start, even the daughter.

Also as to the daughter, the munchausen disorder was trying to always present herself as her daughter’s savior… then the extra mindfuck was that she lovebombed her while in prison. As kid will still hold a decent amount of parental love despite her knowing better.

Second half of Wednesday s2 >>> first half of Wednesday s2

Internet memes spoiled the Unknown Number show for me.

As soon as she came on screen,  I recognized her and knew she who the guilty party was.

Is it worth watching? I liked how the first season started off but then it just got more and more meh until I didn't care about any of the characters at the end.

It is only 8 episodes and none of them are particularly that long.

I thought it ended much better than it started - some really good stuff they put in, and set up a fun season 3

Unknown Number

The perpetrator is a psychopath and should not be allowed contact with any of the victims ever again, in person or in any way.

Or at the very least there should be years of counseling before the perpetrator is allowed contact. I didn't see any true remorse or taking accountability. In fact, they made it seem like they were a victim.

Disgusting.

That was an interesting take by Khloe's parents. I wish the documentary had dug into it. I agree that it wouldn't seem to benefit them, but at the same time, all of the people in the documentary seem to be starved for attention and entertainment.

Look where they live

We watched the first two or three episodes of Wednesday last night. Not a fan of Tim Burton. Still not.

Danny Elfman's score is always a beating. It never rests. Every scene and moment is punctuated with overbearing music.

I don't care about Harry Potter (I assume this is a dark take on that). I like the actors in this. Just doesn't work for me.

Well I haven’t seen even so much as a preview, but her name is Wednesday Addams. And she is part of a Family. So, I think it’s a take on Beetlejuice.

It’s a weird mix of like Riverdale and the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Supernatural elements mixed with YA romance. It’s not like Beetlejuice and it’s more supernatural Harry Potter. But Jenna Ortega is so fantastic

She needs to do more adult-themed stuff so I don't feel so dirty and guilty.

She was great in X.

Charlie Sheen's doc is out today.  Just started watching, it's already a riot.

Lotsa of good quotable material or banner recommendations.

I appreciated his candor.  Some of it was just unbelievable, at times I was in awe of just how resilient this dude is.

Just over a year after Netflix and AMC Networks struck a deal that saw series such as Interview with the Vampire and Dark Winds land on the streamer, the two companies are expanding their deal.

The move adds a slew of titles to Netflix including season two of Interview with the Vampire, which is available from September 30, season three of Dark Winds, and seasons two of The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead: Dead City and Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches. Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order will also be added next year.

AMC gets money to keep making decent stuff, and I can watch it on Netflix.

Hiedi Fleiss says hello.

Shes expected to look like shit though

Really dug the Devo documentary.  They were so unique.  And much of what they were commenting on, the deevolution of society, is more relevant now than it was even then.

i tried the documentary series on the women who got duped by men into giving them all of their money, but it was just like, “i started dating this guy and he said he was a millionaire but then he was always asking me for money so i gave him my life savings and then he stopped answering my calls.” like huh? what the hell is wrong with you?

anyway, after i bailed on that i watched the three part ashley madison series. it was aight. it wasn’t bad or anything, but not a lot of revelatory stuff there, other than the fact that apparently millions of people will subscribe to youtube channels to watch other adults lip sync disney songs. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I can't believe I liked the Charlie Sheen doc, but I did.

I thought it was excellent. Really really good and I highly recommend it to all.

It's basically Charlie's crazy ass life spilled into documentary form as a kind of love letter to his dad.

Also, you can see how Charlie pulled as much talent as he did---mfer has otherworldy charisma.

Not a Netflix thing, but on Youtube, I got a suggestion to watch The Matrix (with ads). I have an adblocker LOL, I didn't get any ads. I'm getting a lot of suggestions now. I am watching Spy Game. Wick 2, Hitman, lots of interesting stuff and it's all free LOL. Better than Netflix actually.

Next “Monster” comes out Oct. 3rd, about Ed Gein. I can’t wait

Watched it last night.  It was good.  Amazing he's still alive.

Same finished it last night. I enjoyed it and forgot a lot of the early in life stuff that I had only read about since it was before my time

On last episode of the Beauty and Bestor

Shit is out there just like most of these fucking docs. Glad to see America isn't the only place with fucked up people lol
