  • Here it is, in short. I would need to cross check some things to make sure it is all correct, but this is the story in brief: Some time in March, 1944, the 45th was moving into Germany in near co

2 episodes in. Really enjoying it thus far

Just watched "Ruby Ridge". I had never heard of this until earlier today. Holy shit. I'm kind of in disbelief that the daughter is as well adjusted as she is after living through that. Watch this if you haven't seen it. Less than an hour long and well worth the watch.

Russian Doll is pretty great. Dascha Polanco is built like a brick shithouse.

It was.

My problem with Netflix now is that everything is a series. I have to slog through 10 episodes and wait a year for another 10. I just want to watch a good movie and be entertained for 90 minutes.

First two episodes have been great.

I’m sure it’s already been talked about in here, but abducted in plain sight is one of the craziest, most fucked up documentaries I’ve ever watched.

Russian Doll is only 8 episodes and each is less than 30 mins. Pretty quick for a series.

Don't watch Dear Zachary then

Exactly my thoughts.  Watchmen meets X-Men: First Class.  Incredible soundtrack, too.

I had asked on the Polar thread if there were any other dark horse properties worth adapting. I guess Netflix was ahead of me.

umbrella academy seems good. 1 episode in but impossible to watch with a 3 yo and 8 mo old. just gonna have to wing it

I’m sure Bodyguard has been discussed at this point. Three episodes in and I’m hooked. Great show.

This is going to be a big hit.

One epi in on umbrella. Mom and Allison would get it.

Just finished. GOD DAMN

Punisher season 2 seemed like a big step down from season 1. The violence was a little too extreme/repetitive for me.

Watching it with the girl so having to go slow. Only. 3. Left.....!

Last one tonight. The pacing is great. Feels like one movie but the kind you never notice the time.

I'm 24 minutes into Abducted In Plain Sight...

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE

Halfway through season 2 of Frontier.  Harp sure likes to be captured and tortured.

the finale is nuts

I'm I really the only person who doesn't give a single shit about the Fyre festival? The meme about the dude sucking dick is funny once it was explained to me, but otherwise I really don't care at all, and I seem to be the only one.

Not digging The Umbrella Academy.  2 episodes in and I find myself constantly checking how much is left.  Just isn't my cup of tea I guess.  It feels like it should be on the CW network.

I really didn't have much interest but once I started watching I thought it was great and hilarious.

I mean episode 1 is slow..I'm sure it has to build up

The Fyre doc is good, but you would think that a bunch of people died at the festival with the amount of attention it's received.

I’m assuming you have seen abducted in plain sight, because when I say it’s fucked up, I mean it’s fucked up on so many different levels. So many what the fuck moments that each could’ve been isolated into their own 1 hour doc

I've seen them both.  I take it by this post you haven't seen Dear Zachary.  Trust me.  It's worse.

Fair enough. Normally I don’t go out of my way to watch docs like this, but one of the podcasts that I listen to on a regular basis was talking about it, and it got brought up in my group chat.

So abducted in plain sight is just kids stuff?

That's your loss then.  But watching a bunch of entitled millennial social media "influencers" show up for their luxury accommodations,  only to find out their staying in water logged tents on the beach is kind of my jam.   And the Fyre Festival delivered the goods.

4 episodes into umbrella.  it definitely has an "x-men meets the royal tenenbaums" feel...

i dig it ok, but it's not blowing my skirt up quite yet.  still waiting on some plot developments to kinda develop.  i also wish this was its own thread and we could discuss episodes, because there are certain things i'm wondering about that could be sloppy writing, or could end up meaning something.

a small example - at least 3 different times allison sees vanya, and says something like, "sorry about what i said yesterday" and they kinda make up.  but there's only been one instance where what was said remotely required an apology.  a lot of the dialogue between the siblings seems like that, where there's some fuzziness to the nature and timeline of their relationships.

also with klaus - he was trapped in the hotel closet and heard the maid, and seemingly could've easily knocked the doors open with his head, but didn't move a muscle.  then when he sees the cop outside, he nearly gives himself a concussion on the table in a much dicier situation with the beard dude right there in the bathroom.  again, the writing has hit me wrong on a few occasions.

obviously i'll finish it, but so far i was hoping for more.  but the music is great.

Punisher and Jessica Jones canceled, the latter after the upcoming season.

Watched Abducted last night.  Some crazy shit but nothing could match all the buildup I'd heard over the last couple weeks.  Seemed apropos that loon "B" committed suicide while ingesting Kahlua and cream.

Writing was dogshit last season (the psychiatrist storyline was soooo bad). Jon Bernthal was great throughout the series though.

Jan's dad is the fucking definition of a simp. Fucking first team All American simp. How the hell does someone grow to be his age without having been killed or shamed into suicide being that big of a simp? Unreal.

i can't even watch this shit i'm so aggravated. i just turned it off with 30 minutes to go. the parents, and in particular the dad, are so goddamn meek, it makes me rage. all of this is their fault, particularly the dad. his meekness makes me so mad i can't even watch this show. they let this happen, time and time again. it's unconscionable.

Umbrella academy is slow because they have so many characters that need explaining.  The biggest issue I have, through 8 episodes, is that the billionaire only got 7 of the 43 babies and the rest of them haven’t been talked about.

That and their powers seem kind of lame.  Aside from the time jumping kid.  Luther with superhuman strength gets owned in a hand to hand combat scene.  That doesn't make sense.  And why is the rumor girl's personal life in shambles if she has the ability to control peoples actions?
