December 14, 20205 yr Watched Ava last night. Jessica Chastain, John Malkovich, Colin Farrell Chastain plays Ava..she's an assassin. Malkovich is her boss/mentor. Farrell is a former assassin turned boss/CEO of whatever Black Ops firm they work for. It was entertaining I guess. Nothing mind-blowing.

The movie was a jumbled mess of cliché assassin storylines with a very shallow plot, combined with family drama that seemed like it would be more at place in a Hallmark movie. The acting was terrible, even felt like Chastain had mailed it in for a paycheck, but maybe she just had terrible dialogue to work with.

December 15, 20205 yr Rose Island - Dubbed Italian flick. True story about a manmade platform that declared itself an independent state 500 meters off Italian territorial waters in the late 60's. Sorry for partying. Edited December 15, 20205 yr by RPM link

December 15, 20205 yr 2 oldie but goodie Challenge seasons dropped on Netflix today, Inferno II and the Duel. The production value is primitive in comparison to today but the cast is stacked with legends.

It is so low rent and every single thing about it is bad: writing, acting, directing, etc. The timeline screw ups are laughable but also insulting, as if they didn't think the people watching it would know or care. The Lifetime moves are Oscar worthy compared to this mess. [Mecician-American, listed to Tejano music, grew up in the Valley in that timeframe...my Dad's most treasured possession is a picture of him dancing with Selena, so maybe I am sensitive]

December 20, 20205 yr If you're a history buff you'll enjoy Struggle: Life and Lost Art of Szukalski. It gets very emotional and is really well done. Edited December 20, 20205 yr by TankedBevo Spell check failed
December 20, 20205 yr Damnation, first episode was packed, not sure where it's going, but I'm going to watch.
December 20, 20205 yr Watched Ava, it wasn’t horrible. I’ll watch anything with Malkovich. Also watched Old Guard, thought it was reasonably decent for a movie on Netflix.
December 20, 20205 yr The new season of Manhunt about the Atlanta Olympic bombing and the aftermath was watchable, particularly Carla Gugino.
December 21, 20205 yr I’m going to give everyone an early Christmas gift and warn you to NOT watch Braven, starting Jason Mamoa from game of thrones. The most ridiculous, overplayed plot and the worst ending in cinematic history. I give it 1 star, and that’s out of 100...
December 22, 20205 yr In response to the success of Queen’s Gambit, Netflix has been pushing Searching for Bobby Fisher. I had forgotten how much I liked that movie. The kid playing Josh gives one of the best child performances ever.

"You've lost. You just don't know it." i use that line every once in a while.

December 24, 20205 yr A Very Murray Christmas is good. I don’t get the Rotten Tomatoes scores. It’s an enjoyable hour long Christmas special without ads. You can’t ask for much more.

December 25, 20204 yr netflix sucks. so does prime. all of the good stuff has been replaced with crap that doesn't even have an imdb listing much less a wiki. christmas favorites? how can they be "favorites" if i have never heard of ANY OF THEM.
December 25, 20204 yr BInged Sweet Home. Gave me a Stranger Things vibe but more of a grown up Korean version. Enjoyed it and def in for S2.
December 26, 20204 yr Bridgerton any good?I’m on episode five and I love it.But it’s a Shonda period piece so I’m far from an unbiased reviewer. This kind of stuff is my wheelhouse.
December 26, 20204 yr Narcos Mexico fucks. Rafa is one crazy fucker. I've also found my new dream girl Theresa Ruiz /homersimpsondrooling.gif
December 26, 20204 yr The Happytime Murders is up on Netflix. Puppet movie from one of Jim Henson’s kids. Maybe a good family flick over the weekend?

I cannot stand the way she writes. It’s either a rapid fire conversation in which people talk amongst each other with no beats from when one stops to the next one starting, or it’s a super monologue where phrases are repeated for effect. source: wife loves greys anatomy band scandal so I’ve seen them.

Yeah, when it was originally announced and the trailer released, I was surprised they were keeping the puppets that close to what looks like kids puppets. There was some funny stuff, but it was too uneven. They would have been better off running it as a sketch comedy on Netflix or something, like the old Twisted Puppet Theater on Showtime, with its puppet facts like "puppets shit cotton!"
December 28, 20204 yr Started watching Alice in Borderland. You'll have to read subtitles but I'm 2 episodes in and liking it so far.

December 29, 20204 yr Watched the professor and the madman last night. I liked it but it’s a story related to the creation of the Oxford dictionary in the 1800s so don’t expect action or car chases. Stars Sean Penn, Mel Gibson and Natalie Dormer. It needed more of her.
