Pick (4th round - 106) value is now somewhere around $721,000. Only other Texas player/commit drafted thus far was Max Belyeu at 74 in the Competitive Balance Round B (CB-B, between the second and third rounds) and will reunite with Jared Thomas in the Rockies' org. Pick value was $1.11M. Too bad he was injured this season or he would have gone higher. That's surprisingly low; the mocks I saw had him in the 40-50 range. Too bad he didn't land in the multi-millionaires club.

They were two of three finalists for the Buster Posey Award, which Bodine (CCU) won. There was no "recruiting over." @Js1, @Hookem2147, and myself are well aware of the state of Texas' current roster. We're merely speculating if this unexpected uncertainty potentially allows for the unforeseen circumstance of Galvan returning to Texas to occur. Nevertheless, I'd imagine we're all on the same page as you that it is unlikely, for a number of reasons. However, Texas doesn't have a qualified backup catcher on the roster after Tinney, which makes a conversation about platooning C/DH for the two more likely given Galvan's fall in the draft. Parsing language here. Key point is they aren't going to need Galvan as they have Tinney now. Can't see him wanting to platoon but you never know. Either way Texas is in good spot.
July 14Jul 14 I wish I better understood MLB draft, if there a good YT video to eli5? Edited July 14Jul 14 by BurntOrange&White

July 15Jul 15 How likely is Galvan to be able to improve his draft value with a good season, being a year older and out of eligibility next time? feels to me like it’s time for him to start his pro career and see how it goes. I know when my brother played baseball, we talked about that. He said that most people would get drafted lower after their eligibility runs out because they don’t have the leverage of going back to school.
August 3Aug 3 How are we sitting? I'm not a regular follower and would be grateful for a summary. Thanks!

September 8Sep 8 Nice. Schloss and co ain't stopping until we win back to back to back to back to back NC'S.
September 15Sep 15 With absolutely zero outside insight, it's always fun when it turns out Schloss decided to have a monster recruiting weekend.

When football happens it’s always, “the 10th player in the state of California and 45th overall…..”, baseball it’s usually just “one of the top” which is very broad. Is that because there’s not a website that’s that well known or reliable or is it just that specific twitter account isnt using rankings? I swear I’ve seen commitments from other accounts too and they seem to rarely have rankings.
November 9Nov 9 Baseball recruiting confuses me because while it's great to get great players, how many will ever step on campus even with NIL? Was Rodriguez an MLB prospect coming out of HS? It seems like very, very few actually do unless they head to LSU.

November 10Nov 10 Getting a verbal commitment from an elite baseball prospect is often like coaxing the homecoming queen into signing your yearbook before she vanishes forever.
November 10Nov 10 It's more like convincing her to wear your letter jacket for an afternoon before her 23 year old boyfriend picks her up in his Camaro. Frustrating, but she signaled to the lesser females that you are indeed fuckworthy and it'll pay off at some point
