My friend/neighbor probably will have a nice cold beer tonight to celebrate, and not even because they framed the Budweiser ad in this photo.

I'm sure he's easily replacable but he'll always have this:

I viewed the guy as a complete non-entity. Good luck to him at Louisiana Directional or whatever.

Don't disagree, but to be fair he began as a walk-on.  Shows where our depth was that he got as much PT as he did.

He ended the season strong at the plate and I was looking forward to seeing if he would take a step next year. Surprises me a bit

the easiest place possible to upgrade hitting is outfield.   we should be trying to upgrade all 3 OF spots.   2 are a must upgrade.  OF can always DH as well.

Biggest part of this is that we need power from the OF.  Should be getting a minimum of 30 HRs a year from the OF but closer to 40 would be nice.  Don't think we were anywhere close to that this year.

40 players and like 18 scholarships- most of the team are walk-ons or getting partial scholarships.

shouldn’t be an issue going forward I guess with the new rules.

AUSTIN, Texas — Virginia transfer infielder Eric Becker, who led the Cavaliers in batting average (.368), runs scored (54) and RBI (52) this past season, is wrapping up a visit to Texas, a source told Horns247 on Sunday.

Becker, who will be a junior this fall, entered the transfer portal last week with a "do not contact" tag.

This past season, Becker batted .368 with nine home runs while also leading Virginia in slugging percentage (.617), doubles (21), total bases (124) and multi-RBI games (13). Becker had a fielding percentage of .920 with 15 errors.

Becker started all 50 games at shortstop for the Cavaliers, who finished sixth in the ACC at 32-18 and 16-11 in league play.

A member of the All-ACC Freshman team in 2024, Becker batted .362 with nine doubles, eight home runs and 46 RBI while appearing in 45 games with 39 starts (26 at third base and 13 at shortstop) for UVA. As a freshman, Becker had a fielding percentage of .925 with 10 errors.

Becker's father, Jeff, was an infielder at Duke who spent some time in the Cleveland Guardians organization.

Texas baseball last week received a commitment from Wichita State senior transfer infielder Josh Livingston, who played first base for the Shockers in 2025 while batting .284 with 15 home runs and 48 RBI. Livingston had a .990 fielding percentage with three errors last season. In two seasons at Wichita State, Livingston hit 26 home runs and proved to be one of the better power hitters in the American Athletic Conference.

Livingston is the likely replacement for the Longhorns' departing senior first baseman Kimble Schuessler, who batted .312 with eight home runs and 45 RBI this past season with a fielding percentage of .994 (three errors).

Do not contact had me thinking he’s going to miss st

Can you imagine going from the academics at UVa to Miss St? UT makes more sense if the kid is going pro in something other than sports.

I didn't realize lefties that do not strike out was allowed.  Interesting.

Anybody know how common it is for draft-eligible guys to bother with portal and then sign with MLB?   I'm never sure how to really assess baseball recruiting due to potential loss of players to draft.

Two lulzes on one Texags page.

1. They got a hotshot pitcher from Clemson with the following stats -

His ERA by year at Clemson:

2023: 5.53 ERA
2024: 5.13 ERA
2025: 6.08 ERA

2. One of their players transferred to Mizzou.  Ag poster replies, "Well if you can't beat 'em, join 'em."
