Wow, that's fascinating.  Thanks.

I found it interesting how it took the band almost a whole verse to truly find the groove on "Walk of Life".  It's as if they finally just started to play along to what they knew in their heads.  The tension just evaporated.

From the same show. Absolutely sublime.  You can see how pleased Chet, Mark, and Michael are by this demonstration of absolute, perfect harmony:

Wow.  I don't even know what to say about that take with the Everly Brothers.  Your word "sublime" works.  Beautiful.

Check out Chet at 1:24.  He actually LOOKS like Mark Knopfler, like his much older brother or something.

Their Neck and Neck album is one of the best pure guitar albums ever.  I've been mining it for licks for decades.

First thought that was Nick Lowe on the bass until I watched the Walk of Life got a better look at him.  Holy shit...that is David Hungate.

Is that Nick Lowe on the bass in that Why Worry clip?

I'll be darned. Looks like him. Trying to find on Google if he was in on that concert.

In the Why Worry clip there is a better shot of him, then Mr. Atkins introduces them.

Mark Knopfler is the greatest living guitarist.

Fight me.

No fight here.

In fact I think I am going to break out the Local Hero soundtrack.

2nd best, a thumbnail behind Jeff Beck.
