November 21, 20187 yr My 2 main dishes I cook in the crock pot are brisket chili and breakfast casserole. My wife cooks pot roast. I don’t like pot roast.
November 21, 20187 yr I made carne guisada in the crockpot a couple of weeks ago. I don't have a specific recipe because I make everything to taste & carne guisada is pretty damn simple.

November 26, 20187 yr 3 slices chopped bacon 1 medium chopped onion , not sweet 1 red bell pepper chopped 3 cloves diced garlic 1-2 lbs. brisket cubed 3 Tbsps. chili powder 1 Tbsp. cumin 1/2 Tbsp. paprika 1 bottle Shiner Bock 15 oz can diced tomatoes. I use the fire roasted chili version 15 oz can tomato sauce 1 can black beans/chili beans(optional) I don't add but will when the family wants some. 4 oz diced green chilis. Hatch works well if you can find it Jalapenos if you want some heat. Set on low for 4-5 hours or until you can see the brisket cubes break down.

November 27, 20187 yr Throw some chicken breasts in the Crock Pot with this stuff and come back 5 hours later. The nice thing about this one is it has a cooking sauce and a separate finishing sauce for the last little while after you shred the meat. If you don't do that, you end up with something that's to-dry-to-eat. HEB has this when they are open.
November 27, 20187 yr Fish Chowder Use any white fleshed fish cubed, 1". Saute in butter- all chopped-- onions, carrots, celery, potato, jalapeno, green pepper. Saute the carrots and potato first to soften. Add-- crumbled fried bacon. Put all in the crock pot with chicken stock (enough to cover it all) Season with Old Bay, salt and pepper, Slap yo Mamma, or whatever you like. Cook at med-high to high until fish is fully cooked. You can leave it on all day if you want. Add heavy cream to thicken, right at the end and cooked shrimp if desired. When you can't wait any longer, enjoy with some fresh baked sourdough bread.
