March 3Mar 3 I need to figure out this whole 2 Division thing. Harlan couldn't hang with Brennan this season, but they are also on the cusp of a State Championship. I guess good for them, but too many winners in my opinion. Brennan has won everyting easily this year. Our only loses were to two teams up in DC during a pre-season tournament. I'm hoping they come out strong and not complacent. Kingston is one of my students. Great, confident kid. But again, Brennan has some other kids. I really like Juniors Donavan Criss and Isiah Ward. Isiah gets extra love from me because he came out to support our Water Polo teams!

The two larger by attendance (not record) teams go to division 1 bracket. The two smaller by attendance teams go to division 2 bracket. Division 1 and division 2 winners are both declared state champion by classification. [Classification being 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A.]
March 3Mar 3 A friends son plays for CC Vet Memorial 5A DivI They're 39-0 and have won their 4 playoff games by an average of 29.75 Play Westbrook tomorrow night @ Bay City High school
March 4Mar 4 Jesus, they are playing Allen vs Duncanville at Coppell? Not one of the colleges were available? Dickeys center?

March 4Mar 4 Why is there no centralized state tournament site now? Going every year growing up from like 1984 to 1999, it was always a highlight.

Because they using the high school football playoff format with spilt divisions. So instead of six state championships to be decided we have twelve and it would be impossible to have the now former format in a central location. Unless they used two different locations simultaneously. BTW baseball and softball will do the same and entire baseball championship will be at Dell Diamond instead of 4A playing their games at the Disch.
March 4Mar 4 Author Surprised they didn’t play at the culwell center in garland. My son went to buy a ticket at 3:30 and it was sold out and tickets went in sale at 12.
March 4Mar 4 Author Instead of hosting the final four and championship games they had to only host the championship games since they have 12 games to play. I don’t like the final four games being at high school gyms so I don’t get that.

Good question. They're not big, that's for sure. Have a 4 star at SF. 6'7" Billy White. 247 has him #4 in Texas for 2026 They're averaging about 90pts/game and only played 4-5 close games.
March 4Mar 4 Just now, dogbreath said: Wheatley beat Yates 90-84 last week in 4A division 2 regional finals. holy shit, i had no idea wheatley was still doing their thing. me, this entire thread:
March 4Mar 4 4A div 1 final four. Lubbock Estacado v Dallas Kimball Kimball destroyed Carter in regional final Austin LBJ v Houston Washington @ 7:30p W5Estacado W11Kimball @ WF Legacy HS Preview G623/4 @ 7p W20Washington W25LBJ Austin
March 4Mar 4 It was a hella of a game. They got beat on the defensive end after their guards got in foul trouble. STP jumped and pressured on the perimeter. Harlan faked and either hit 3’s or drove to the basket.

The past few years if you’re good at basketball in the coastal bend you magically end up enrolled at CC Vets. Corpus is known for baseball but they’re no slouches at hoops either. West Oso had some really good teams back in the day at the lower levels.

We'll see if Antoine wants to maybe climb the coaching ladder at some point.
March 5Mar 5 Just checked and saw that I still have an active nfhs network subscription from football season. Didn't know that, and it will be canceled soon. But tonight let's watch some Duncanville Allen
March 5Mar 5 Halftime Allen 41 - Duncanville 40 Duncanville turned up the D in the 2nd qtr, good stuff A decidedly pro-Allen crowd
March 5Mar 5 3AD1 Columbus is in the finals vying for a basketball state title after winning one in football in the fall. Grayson Rigdon put up 43 points tonight against Onalaska.

He's signed to play football for ASU. Next Skattebo?
March 5Mar 5 vets is the newest and nicest hs in CC My cousin plays center for Westbrook. His dad played OG for Baylor.I remain the runt in the family at 6’.
March 6Mar 6 That crowd was 90% Allen last night https://x.com/Matt_Stepp817/status/1897109489536655449

Well, Rigdon's season came crashing down today by the way of Tatum. 84-49. Tatum had a great offense, screens and passing, and all Columbus had was Rigdon. Tatum's was very well coached--offense and defense!.

March 8Mar 8 We've got a state champion in the family. Westbrook beat Birdville in OT.So thrilled for my cousin, who is a JR C.Elijah Garrett is a baller.
March 9Mar 9 They’ve been asking for a shot clock in Texas HS basketball for 20+ years. They’ll never vote for it for 1 reason—small town Texas

They are going up against the same kind of talent.
March 9Mar 9 A member of my slow white family winning a state basketball championship is something we never had on our bingo card.
March 9Mar 9 Tight one in the finale. Bellaire has led most of the way, but Duncanville went up 2 with a shot at the buzzer of the 3rd qtr.
March 9Mar 9 Duncanville 6a d1 Bellaire had a clean look at a 3 to win it at the buzzer and it clanked
March 9Mar 9 Henderson for Bellaire, the kid that's going to Duke, is a heck of a player. Probably why he's going to Duke. Allen very well may have had the best team in the state, certainly looked the part, but you got to win them when you play them.
