I’m acquainted with one of the owners. Always loved this place but Bishop Arts is a little too far to be in my regular rotation. Only made there a few times a year (but Hillside Tavern is in my rotation).

Losing this place is a real shame.

Yeah, that sucks. Always enjoyed that place. We don't go down to Bishop Arts as much as we used to when we seemed to go nearly every weekend.

Were they owners of Rapscallion as well?

Yes

This is a big loss for us. Pretty much there from day 1. We celebrated there, closed a huge business deal there, hung out with neighbors just eating oysters and sometimes just sat at the bar for what I still think is the best burger in town. Their half price wines on Friday was the best deal in town.

We went last night for our final meal: packed house and an excellent meal, as always. They are closing down at the top of their game. But, I understand.
