Only 3.0 back of the Blue Jays and the first Wild Card team after the Yankees FAFO against the Marlins.

Fuck the Yankees. Lets take the division.

I know there's a lot of new Sox fans over the last 20 years who may not feel the true depth of hatred for them, but I went to my 1st game in 1982 and had to live through a LOT of Yankee winning before 2004.  Every day we're above them in the standings is a good one.

It would be very nice to get back to the days of high-stakes postseason clashes, a la 2003 & 2004. You know, just with outcomes like '04 and not '03.

Bunch of the adult Tshirts are already sold out.  My nephews are getting tees for their birthdays - they'll actually be sitting on the Monstah on the older one's birthday.  Brother splurged on tickets - $1600 for the family.

Fuck yeah - nephew got a BP homer already. (someone gave it to him, he didn’t catch it on the fly)

Glad he got to see a Win! That got a bit nerve racking. Anyways, six in a row.

Incredible 1st game for them! They got on the Jumbotron and the KC homer in the 8th hit right in front of them and bounced back over into the field.

6 straight, 8 of 10 and 3 series W in a row.  Crazy that this team looks like one that can actually play baseball, especially compared to the same squad that was 30-34 60 days ago.

31-16 since Roman Anthony was called up.

What got into Bello!?!?  As my brother was sending pics of the tour and Fenway during the day yesterday, I sent him "Bello is pitching, so good chance you get some balls up there!" but dude has really stepped up lately - ERA has been steadily dropping from 4.08 to 3.03 over the last 2 months.

I don't know how to look up team game logs, but I'd be real curious to know what the errors per game was on June 1 vs today. Feels like the Keystone Cops act has really faded away as well.

Since July 1st, Jarren Duran is… 8th in OPS - 1.0437th in SLG - .66010th in wRC+ - 179Tied for 7th in fWAR - 1.5Looking a lot more like the 2024 version of himself…

This team is on an absolute tear right now.

And I am here for it!

Went to my local tavern tonight. Bartender is a die hard Houston fan. Said I am on probation.... I laughed and said we got this. See you in the Post Season. I love how the team is playing

Getting past the first few series after the All Star break without flopping will likely be the key point in the season.  They went 4-5 in those series against the NL Division leaders.  That's a huge confidence boost for a young team and has likely been a big part of them going on a tear after that.

BREAKING: Outfielder Roman Anthony and the Boston Red Sox are finalizing an eight-year, $130 million contract extension, sources tell ESPN. The deal, which is pending a physical, includes a club option and will keep Anthony under team control through 2034.

Beat me to it. Fuck yeah. He could be the next Judge. Who I love, and still hate the Yankees.

We finally signed a player that makes sense to keep for the long term to a long-term deal! However, just tell me now… are we going to ask him to play first base? Kidding.

👀👀

Since the Rafael Devers trade, the Giants have the worst record in baseball and the Red Sox have the 3rd-best record in baseball.

Last night Sox just looked flat.

Yep. Maybe due to the massive ass kicking the day before and the series win. Either way, one big issue with the team this year has been inconsistent offense. But that's baseball, to a degree.

That's typical for a very young team.

Agreed.  Looking forward to the next couple of years.  Hoping they can hold on to Chapman and Bregman.

If it can't be the Sox this year I'm going to pull hard for the Blue Jays.  They are a fun team to watch, and I'd love to see the Canadian team win it all.

I think a lot of that also has to do with the improved culture since the Devers trade.

Yeah, for sure, both.

Either way, it was hard for me to imagine they'd be 73-60 and highly likely playoff bound (93.8% according to ESPN) when this team was sitting at 30-34.

Son is a diehard sox fan. All his friends are planning on going down. Best friend of mine is an Astros fan. He will fly up from Ecuador. Nose bleed is the idea. they are young kids and such. I would prefer 3rd base line or the outfield.

My BIL is a huge Astros fan. Watches every game and lives in North Houston. I’m in Austin, so not a hard drive. I’d be good with either of those seating areas.

Make the youngin sit up high.

Chapman strikes out the side in the 9th. 99mph. Sox take the win.

Gritty win. yeah, it is the orioles but they tend to trip us up a lot.

Here is to Toronto losing tonight. I want the East. Oh, and the Yankees as well. Went off for 1 inning last night so that could be their runs for the week.

Yeah, It'd be really nice to start to close the gap on the Blue Jays.

Boston has these 3-game series upcoming:

  • Pittsburgh (59-75)
  • Cleveland (66-66)
  • @Arizona (65-69)
  • @A's (63-72)

Over the same stretch, Toronto has:

  • Milwaukee (83-51)
  • @Cincinnati (68-66)
  • @Yankees (73-60)
  • Houston (73-60)

If the Sox aren't closer to the division title after that stretch, it's either: their own fault, or they just aren't likely to catch them.

Red Sox are calling up Payton Tolle, their top pitching prospect and MLB Pipeline's No. 28 overall, to start Friday night, per multiple sources including MLB's Ian Browne. He'll make his MLB debut opposite Paul Skenes 👀

Pretty damn good MLB debut.  5 1/3inn, 8K, 3H, 2 W, 2ER.  Be nice if the bullpen could have picked him up.

#197

Not great...

Roman Anthony is out of the game. Here’s the swing where it looks like he tweaked his back. Immediately went down to the clubhouse.Time to start the prayer circle.

#198

goddammit

Alex Cora announces that Roman Anthony will land on the IL and the timetable is 4-6 weeks. Absolutely brutal. I hate everything.
