KC TENANTS AND JACKSON COUNTY VOTERS SHUT DOWN THE STADIUM SALES TAX. The largest transfer of public funds to private enterprises in our region’s history, $2 billion over 40 years. The people took on the billionaires. The people won. Nothing is inevitable if we organize.

So KC voted down the stadium? Baseball should be downtown, period.

They didn't vote no on the stadium. They voted down a 40 yr continuation of a 3/8 cent sales tax to help fund it. Ownership of the Royals and the Chiefs have done a shit job of letting the community know just what they want to do and really rushed this vote. They still have 6-7 years before the lease expires and maybe they can get their shit together and come up with a proposal that doesn't appear to be such a blatant cash grab.

Following their first playoff appearance in decades, the Marlins tried to demote GM Kim Ng. She turned that down and left the organization. The Marlins are behind early today and if they lose to the Angels, they'll be 0-7 to start this season.

the marlins lost 10-2.

Yordan Alvarez is the first player in Statcast history to have 5 batted balls with an exit velocity of 105+ and 3 batted balls with a projected distance of 400+ in a single game.

The A's plan to move to Sacramento for the 2025-27 seasons, with an option to play there in 2028 as well, the team announced. They will play in Sutter Health Park -- just over 10,000 seats, with grass outfield seats to increase capacity to 14,000 -- for at least three seasons.

Member when people thought they’d move to Vegas? I member. Will probably end up back in Oak for 2029.

Will be interesting to see how many people in Sacramento come out to watch them for 3 seasons. Or longer and they become the Sacramento A's.

Jerry Seinfeld Popcorn GIF by Sheets & Giggles

I mean, the origin of this gif had to do with ill-advised uniforms and the Yankees.  It's doubly appropriate.

There was a 5+ hour rain delay in that game.

I guess he couldn’t remember any A’s player names

John Fisher calls Sutter Health Park "the most intimate park in Major League Baseball".He says he can't wait to watch the MLB's top stars like Aaron Judge hit home runs here.

Were you dropped on your head this morning? The vote to let the A's play in Vegas starting in 2028 was already approved, but they cant play there until they have a stadium. The Tropicana's last day of operations in Las Vegas was this week as its being demolished to make way for get this.......a MLB baseball stadium.

You should go catch a game at that Sacramento stadium. You can see MLB caliber play (from  the visiting team anyway) in a smaller stadium, likely for a cheaper price than most stadiums. I could see catching a Braves game there in the summer and then heading to Tahoe for a few days. Would make for a good long weekend.

Not to bring logic into this but Baltimore actually is one of the higher attended teams when it comes to per capita attendance (also Milwaukee and Colorado normally).

(of course this caps teams that sellout a lot of games because they potentially would have even more attending if they could fit them in, but it also begs the question why large cities don't sell out every single game of the season every single year since the population is so high there)

Only averaging 21k this year though 6 games. In reality, Baltimore is a pretty shitty market for baseball. Wrong demographics.

When Anthony Rendon last got a hit, his teammate Nolan Schanuel was still in college. Since Rendon's last hit, Schanuel got drafted, got promoted to Single-A, Double-A then MLB, and has collected 33 big league hits.
