i'm an ATJ fan, first saw him in Nocturnal Animals and he was absolutely fantastic. Bond would obviously be total opposite, but he's suave enough to pull it off. Cavill would be an easy pick, but i feel he's too buff or something

I wanted Robert Pattison.  He stole every one of his Tenet scenes.

It'd be interesting if they killed Bond off more frequently and rolled through a variety of 007s.   I could see a hot fit lady as Bond.   Or maybe a non white guy..

Simu Liu perhaps?

If we're going asian, how about Andrew Koji? He was also in Bullet Train.

Sounds like Amazon money whipped Broccoli into letting go of creative control:

that's unfortunate.  the article that the ohio trash posted was from three days earlier and made it sound like broccoli wasn't ever going to cave.

Well, Bond had a great run.

Yeah, going out on the 25th movie while it was still technically Her Majesty’s Secret Service and only serving one Monarch feels very apropos.

I always liked the idea that Bond wasn't a real guy, but a job title. You would have a Bond retire or die and someone would get promoted. Skyfall fucked that all up. It's a mess. Haven't watched the last few.

Fuck no. I remember seeing part of an episode when I was a kid, I couldn't believe people watched that low budget looking shit.

#93

There must be something there for people to have watched it for generations but hell if I can understand the appeal.

I remember Dr No when I was 5.  My parents took me and I was hooked.  Secret agents were hot from TV and Bond movies in the 60’s.   My favorite movie of the franchise  is still On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.  Would have been the top of all if Connery had played the role.

The formula to revive classic Bond is simple - Cast Cavill (obviously)- Make it a 60s/70s period piece - Film is 100% practical effects- Devote silly budget to finding and casting a completely unknown but extremely hot brown haired actress from [european country]- Allow… https://t.co/vBTmRMGYvP

the thing that makes you crazy is that it really is this simple.  it is so fucking simple.  you could swap cavill with hardy or elba or several others, stick closely to everything else, and you’ve got a blockbuster mega hit that everyone loves.  it’s as easy as it gets.

but they won’t do that.

#96

No argument with the formula you describe and I'd add that the actor swap wherein you take a somewhat unknown but solid actor and make him/her Bond is my preference over a well known person such as Chalamet or Cavill etc. There are plenty of A list types that I think would do well and are pretty to look at but developing someone into Bond somewhat stays true to the character itself.

This drama will be instantly forgotten when Nolan signs on to direct.

You'll have no idea what the fuck is going on, but it'll look fantastic and you'll be deaf by the end of the movie.
