this team (#78 in kenpom and ready to fire their HC when the regular season ended)-   has just done this: to go to the final four. one of the more unforeseen, unpredictable

He's only dominant because he's large and NCAA officials can't officiate guys that size correctly. His game is completely unremarkable. He's athletic for his size but his skills are entirely mid.

He's also pretty clever. Doesn't offer much weakside help if the opponent has a clear path. Instead, puts his hands down by his side and allows the bucket.

I don't blame Edey. Just a flaw in the game and officiating that Painter exploits. The moment he gets a crew that "lets them play," his teams get bounced.

Congrats to them for finally making a FF, though.

So you’d pass on him and what he does?

This is a bad faith, stupid question and you should feel bad for posting something so dumb.

For sure it's not his fault. I'm just saying he's not actually that skilled of a player.

To be fair 3 seconds is not a thing anymore in CBB except when the refs get swept up in home crowd momentum.   You can find probably 15 instances where it could be called in every game.

You’ve labeled his game as unremarkable and his skills as middling.  He put up remarkable numbers and dominated his tourney games despite your low rating.

Also, you did not answer the question but you came back with a bitchy post as if I had the audacity to question your point of view.

The question remains.

It's a dumb question. Anyone would take advantage of what he brings.

His skills are demonstrably middling. He can't dribble, he can't shoot, his touch on any shot that isn't a dunk/layup is laughable, and he is a below average FT shooter despite literally living there. He's not even a good defender outside of being so large that his personal gravity by itself just prevents driving to the basket.

On the other hand, he's athletic, smart and knows how his bread is buttered. His post moves aren't advanced or remarkable but he uses the ones he has effectively, most of the time. And he knows he can get away with more contact than most bigs.

Regardless, his game is entirely predicated on him being able to overpower anyone who's guarding him because he's 7'4" and weighs 300 pounds. If he were a normal sized big he'd be completely unremarkable in every way and I absolutely stand by that.

It's horrible to watch as a fan.

I mean I figure he could get called for 3 seconds several times every game but there’s nothing particularly egregious about that clip.

Finally.  Asked and answered.

either N,C. state is fairly bad or Duke is once again the ultimate team in a team game.  I want to see UConn against Duke right now for the NC.  should be a great game.

Aidoo got off to bad shooting start and Barnes benched him for most second half for a freshman that only scored only 2 points.

Players in college basketball need 6 fouls now.

So frustrating to see offensive players initiating contact by jumping into a defender,  and the damn refs call a foul on the defender.

Just terrible basketball... GEEZ

Agree with this.   It's like you are expected to vaporize yourself on defense.

Had completely forgotten Purdue's FF appearance in 1980 until it was brought up on the broadcast, had thought it hadn't happened since the Rick Mount days.

on TV a couple of days ago I saw the shot of a very old Gene Keady(sp?).

Come on WolfPack. You can make up for all your hurtful shite and constant bracket fuckening if you just beat these cunts.

Keady is my dad's age...born 26 days after my dad.  They both turn 88 between now and end of May.

I want to be that guy when I am that old....as the saying goes...young enough to still want to, old enough to know better.

Need to call Filipowski more often for lowering that shoulder and running over guys. He gets away with that way too much

Remember his wife?  She must be deceased, because she had the market cornered on orange makeup...

You can take now, Lord.  It won't get much better than this.

Aidoo was absolutely terrible offensively for three straight games, sending him to the bench should have happened sooner. him going to the bench has nothing to do with the outcome.

"Yeah, wire the money to refs offshore acct...  Need Duke to win"

image.png.b8c70a703172305b77a28c263016c1ab.png

are you kidding me with this tech? god damn it, just skip the fucking games and key the refs fill out the bracket and let us know who won.

5 point possession!!! I don't see duke coming back from this,.

Listening on Westwood One and I’m almost sure it’s Craig Way on the pxp.  According to their website it’s supposed to be Ryan Radtke.

Explain to me like I'm 5 years old how NC State gets the points on that 3?  The whistle blew like 3 steps before he took it.

I knew there was something about this game that reminded me of something.  The NC State FG% is eerily similar to Villanova's % in the best, biggest upset in Final game history...I remember exactly where I was to watch that game.
