Pretty perfect game to take a three year old to. Was over before he got too bored and got to see a couple homers. Thanks @UTPhil2006 for the suggestion about the first game certificate, had plenty of

It is pouring in Cleveland, where this rain delay has exceeded two hours for a game between two playoff teams that carries no meaning in the standings.

Facing the inevitable Cy Young winner in game 1 of the Wild Card isn't a great start to the playoffs.  On the bright side, the last time Skubal started at Minute Maid, he lost 0-4 and Hunter Brown threw 7 shutout innings with 5 hits and 0 walks.

I'd prefer not to play the hottest team in baseball, the probably Cy Young winner, and a World Series winning manager, but whatever.

This is not what Ric Flair would say.

Whoa. As soon as I submitted this, Tony Fn Romo said it on the Chefs Chargers broadcast.

We're in the matrix.

I'm sure the prospect of playing against 2 rookie managers on this side of the bracket has a little to do with the Tigers decision to lay down. I'm just surprised the Royals didn't do the same. Oh well, Orioles/Yanks on the other side should be fun to watch.

Yordan Alvarez will hit tomorrow, Joe Espada said. Espada is more optimistic than he was two days ago that Alvarez will be able to help in the Wild Card series, but he cautioned there are still boxes to check.

Correction: both games.

I really do hate how I invest 400-500 hours of my spring/summer in to this team and then get screwed  in to having to take off of work to be able to watch the most important games of the year.

Agreed. The NBA doesn't have non-weekemd playoff day games.

NBA is played indoors and MLB can’t have a postseason that runs 2 months like the NBA (and would be awful )

I just want to see the numbers that show rating /dollars are better this way than putting them all in primetime on weeknights.
baseball is still a regional sport  and I’m willing to be your overall viewership is higher with two games going on in primetime at the same time vs 2 afternoon games when most of America is at work.

Scheduled BP 'a really good sign' for Yordan's potential Wild Card return"But just the fact he’s able to hit and rotate, and do stuff that a couple of days ago I thought he wasn’t going to be able to do in a matter of days, it’s a really good sign.”https://t.co/PfZiidA8sh

I saw “Lead after 8 innings: 80-3” and thought ‘damn that’s way better than I expected’ and then saw “Tied after 8 innings: 8-14” and thought ‘that’s more like it.’

And I know we’ve commented on this next one throughout the season, but damn:

”Trailing after 8 innings: 0-56”

A.J. Hinch's first reaction to playing the Astros: "I saw the Houston packet on my desk from the advance (scout), so we'll start to study now. Baseball, I tell ya, it's gonna take you places, and sometimes it's gonna take you places where you've been."
