Pretty perfect game to take a three year old to. Was over before he got too bored and got to see a couple homers. Thanks @UTPhil2006 for the suggestion about the first game certificate, had plenty of

I’m just glad I survived another season of being the official thread starter. Thank you all for your continued support in this emotional time.   In more ways than one with tonight’s result:

Big win, good to recover for the split.  Great job by the bullpen.

Nice strategery from Espada to get one out from Hensley knowing that those 5 runs wouldn't hurt us.

Game ball to the guy who got the first out of his MLB career (maybe the last out) tonight in a winning effort.
let’s win again tomorrow. 3 games is a streak fellas.

Blair Henley was optioned after the game, he said.

Glad his family got to see him get hammered in person for his one and, most likely, only start in the majors.

He didn’t really get hammered.

he did sheet his drawers though.

18 balls out of 39 pitches including a pitch timer violation, 3 walks and a HBP.

73, 93, 108, 83 were the exit velos on the four singles he gave up. So other than Garcia’s they didn’t really square him up

But yeah, sucks to go from a MLB locker room to catch a flight to… Albuquerque

Henley really fucked over the starters ERA.

But on the flip side just about every reliever got in at least a scoreless inning the last two nights (save Hader). So take the good with the bad, I guess.

did you watch the same 1/3 inning we all did?

Crazy game, but the bats were alive and they pulled off the W.

Vic Caratini had some good at-bats, not just the homer, but they really should start him at first base and give Abreu a rest. There was one at-bat where he fought off like 7 balls and had a really long plate appearance. I love it when guys do that and wear down a pitcher. Even if he got no hits, at least making consistent contact on foul balls is better than whiffing at pitches 18 inches off the plate.

Yordan kicked ass as per usual. He had a slow start in that Yankees series, but seems to have found his stride.

Seth Martinez did awesome coming into a terrible situation. The Bullpen gave up 0 runs in 8 2/3 innings. Pretty pretty pretty good.

Salvaging the series at 2-2 is not bad, as it ties the Rangers with the Angels for first place in the division and the Astros are only 2.5 games back. Still plenty of games to go, lots of things to be excited and worried about. Need to make some adjustments and keep grinding. Verlander will be back soon, and that should solidify the rotation for a while.

It's a stat.  Stats don't hang banners.

Especially when that stat is an ERA of 135.00.

Good morning to everyone but the entire DFW Metroplex, #StraightUpTX fans and anyone who left the @astros for dead after one whole inning. As if Dallas-area sports teams haven’t been choking for decades?? Eight unanswered runs means a split and a happy flight. #Relentless🔥🤘🏼

Don't know much about him, but is really an option?

Good read …

Logan VanWey has continued his rise up the #Astros system:“I like pitching with a chip on my shoulder, knowing I’ve always been undervalued, and overlooked. The Astros saw something in me that no other team did”Read more here: https://t.co/RsekLLTvXA

Astrosfuture.com does not want me to take them seriously.

Although ERA-135 would make for a good vanity plate. If he were my brother, that's what he would be finding under the Christmas tree.

I don't normally venture over to the Rangers thread to talk trash, but when you lose to a starter with a 135.00 ERA, I do!

Not to pour salt in the wound, but I'm old enough to remember when people wanted to pay Story nine figures to be an Astro.145 games in three years slashing .227/.288/.394. He's in the third year of a six-year, $140m contract. https://t.co/kcWiJBxKrA

Mushinski joining the team in KC which probably means Framber to the IL since Mush hasn’t completed his 15 days in the minors and can only be brought up prior as an injury replacement.

Wander Suero just walked on the field with the Astros' relievers at Kauffman Stadium. That is probably the corresponding move for Blair Henley's option.

KC went 1-2 against the Orioles and Twins, then won 4 against the horribad White Sox. This should be an easy 2-1/3-0 series for the Astros, but we know that nothing for this team is easy.  KC has a +19 run differential and 15 of that came from the White Sox series.

I thought this in 2023 as well. I’m not falling for the banana in the tailpipe again.
