We set a record for GLP-1 ads during a Super Bowl. Thought it was kind of funny to see an ad that criticized the entire weight loss industry, for-profit healthcare, big pharma generally and GLP-1s specifically, and then turned around and tried to sell GLP-1 subscriptions.

It's an effective play.   "Your problems are someone else's fault."

I thought Wegovy was a ride sharing service.

Waymo is for antisocials who don’t like the highway

Wegovy is for the obese who don’t like leafy greens or cardio

Well, that makes sense.

Waymo is a better name for the obesity drug.

Ad:  Have you been eating Waymo than you're supposed to?

I read today where the FDA is shutting down the compounding of these drugs.  How is that going to work with you guys that are mid treatment?  Seems like a shitty thing to do and of course big pharma gets another W.

As someone who has never had a ‘normal’ relationship with food, it’s wild the difference Zepbound has made for me. I eat so much healthier now & I don’t have the ‘food noise’ that used to make it a struggle to stop eating the foods I really like. I’ve found the podcast ‘Fat Science’ really informative. The doctor on it has prescribed these types of medications for more than a decade and explains how these medications work and what you can do to aid the process (no diets, avoid cutting out carbs, importance of sleep, etc.). Good luck to everyone working to get healthier!

Down 65 lbs in about a year. Twice now (once in December and once at a July 4th party this past weekend) I’ve eaten and drank too much and paid for it with a couple days of what felt like a stomach bug. All the more reason to cut that crap out.

My doc says my bloodwork looks great, which hasn’t been true for many years. People say they don’t recognize me.

One notable consequence is that oral medications can take quite a bit longer to take effect. Not a big deal for daily or weekly meds (I’m still on a statin, for instance, but no longer on BP meds or omeprazole for reflux/heartburn) but it’s a bummer for “recreationals”. Can’t really do gummies any more, and when I took shrooms before a Dead show in March they didn’t kick in until 3am.
