April 5, 20241 yr I’ve recently started to pay more attention to my investments. I’m 46 and investing for long term growth, not to get rich quick. (I know, fat chance) I’ve had an IRA and 401k following the total market and S&P 500 (FSKAX & FXAIX) for years. I recently opened a brokerage account with a 33% split of QQQM, SCHD and VOO. I also opened a Roth IRA with 60% JEPQ (dividends are reinvested) and 40% QQQM. I don’t know, am I doing it wrong with these choices? What does your “perfect” ETF portfolio look like? April 5, 20241 yr I’m not a professional. I don’t give advice (unless you’re my daughter, which I suspect none of you are or I’d know you at least lurked here). I’ve been retired for about 15 years but only recently moved out of 100% equities. I didn’t do it for any tangible reason. My portfolio is below its all-time high, but still higher than it was when I retired. All that said, my portfolio target is: 85% VTI 15% BIV About two years of living expenses spread across three HYSA. I try to rebalance by adjusting my withdrawals rather than actually moving anything around. This information may be worth less than what you paid for it.
April 5, 20241 yr I use VTI in my taxable account and FZROX on my IRA account. Low cost and no cost total market funds. Edited April 5, 20241 yr by bborange fuck up
April 5, 20241 yr For my equity holdings: 1/2: VOO 1/4: QQQ 1/4: VIG I'm way underinvested in stocks vs. fixed income. If I had invested like Doc did with 100% equity, I'd be on a beach, earning 20%. Edited April 5, 20241 yr by FirstTimeCaller
