April 9, 20241 yr for those of you with copper sinks in your houses, do you keep them polished like a bright, new, shiny penny? Or do you let them age? My new house has a hammered copper 50/50 sink in the kitchen, and a very ornate hammered copper with what can best be described as a vine with leaves pattern in my bathroom. on days when my wife or housekeeper polishes them with barkeepers Friend, they look really awesome for about one hour. Then the oxidation begins, and after a day or two, they look dark and splotchy. i’m assuming that if I just let them go wild and use dish soap and warm water to clean off food residue then eventually it will take on the patina of an old penny. Is anybody here in the same boat?
