Moore’s camp has told Bobby Burton that Trey Moore is returning to Texas. Nothing set in stone, but that would be a big deal, IMO.

I've got friends who are big BYU fans, so I'll happily throw their games on and pull for the Cougs. OSU and ASU are fun schools with cool alumni. And Texas Tech and Colorado showing their asses will be funny for as long as their current head coaches are in place.

The rest... whatever. And fuck Baylor.

I still like the Big 12 and will certainly continue watching their games because their champion will be participating in a little postseason tournament y'all may have heard of that we better be a part of most years.

I've always thought the Big 12 breeds the most creative/cutting edge coaches, for whatever reason.  Texas always got other teams' best shots, and they would scheme specifically for Texas--with trick plays/tendency challenges/etc. that reflected some pretty high level coaching, even if the athletes on the field left something to be desired.

I think we saw similar coaching from Dillingham last week--the fake punt, HB pass, and defensive stunting that we were not prepared for.

For that reason, I think it behooves everyone to pay attention to the Big 12, as a lot of the most successful CFB concepts have come out of the conference in the last 25 years.

Agreed - particularly with offensive schemes. There were a ton of coaching trees that came out of the conference in the 2000s and early/mid 2010s. Shit, in the 2000s, it was often considered the best top to bottom football conference. OU's inability to win big postseason games after 2000, Alabama's ascension, the ESPN love affair with the SEC afterwards, combined with conference realignment, as well as the bag game and other factors, shifted that narrative.

Yeah, the Big 12 was always wildly entertaining. Gundy, Lincoln Riley's OU offenses, Leach, etc.

Even after realignment and losing Nebraska, CU and aggy, WV came in and was wildin' out with Tayvon Austin and Kevin White and Geno Smith and Will Grier and Stedman Bailey.  KU had some fun upsets as well.

Now, a lot of programs like Baylor and TCU directly benefitted from our decade of suck, and it will be enjoyable to watch them go back to being ass.

With Texas and OU gone, it feels like the conference race will always be the most open and entertaining, and certainly some personalities with Joey running his mouth all the time, Dillingham, the circus of Deion, Gundy is always good for some quotes, etc.

The SEC will remain boring in terms of title contention - Georgia, Texas, maybe Alabama or Tennessee tries to get in the mix.  B1G will just be Oregon, PSU and Ohio State, with the occasional Michigan if they can re-find their post-Harbaugh form. ACC is Miami, Clemson, SMU.

Reminds me of the UNLV Runnin' Rebels and that era of college basketball. Them and Loyola Marymount and other teams running up and down the court and scoring 120+ points.

It's fun that several Big 12 schools approach the game differently.

Miami lol

Also I guess his draft feedback was "don't"

Oh wow

My guess is his elbow is much worse than advertised and has entered the portal (within the UGA window) to give himself more options as he waits on his draft grade. More intersting question is did UGA give him the option at all to return? My guess is no.

I think ACC and Big12 are great position to leverage key transfers likes this.

Defenses in the BIG and SEC are much tougher, they can light the world up at Miami and elsewhere. Look at McCord at Syracuse

Sure, but, uh, there’s also another pretty big issue that you seemed to have forgotten - Texas sucking for 12 of of their 13 years in conference. That did not help the conference one bit.

He's not playing until 2026 if he had Tommy John surgery.

So you're saying he and Quinn will both be at Miami next year?

He doesn't have to wait for his draft grade, he probably reached out through back channels and got very discouraging feedback regarding his injury timeline and draft prospects.

This is a QB who threw for nearly 3500 yards, 28 TDs and 12 INTs this year. By all rights he should be NFL-bound without a second thought.

I agree that a lot of it is injury based. No NFL team wants to pay to have him sit a year when they can convince him to wait until the 2026 draft. Nobody is going to be full strength 8 months after Tommy John.

He's probably going to end up transferring somewhere and not playing as he finishes recovery. Really bad break for that guy.

Lol so it’s Miami

100% true, unfortunately. I conveniently slotted that one into "other factors."

With Beck’s big-ass horse teeth… to quote the great D.L. Hughley, “He gonna go down on her and give that girl a hysterectomy!”

With a handle like Beer Drinker and offering up unprompted takes that this looks like a dude...

..I can only think that we're dealing with a severely closeted individual who is wildly ashamed of his sexuality, but is completely clueless how to cover it up in normal society. Probably posts on game threads with shit like "Damn, I can't believe that fucking sportsball play!" and, as he hits enter, sits back satisfactorily in his chair and takes a sip of his white wine spritzer.
