Moore’s camp has told Bobby Burton that Trey Moore is returning to Texas. Nothing set in stone, but that would be a big deal, IMO.

To be coached by the OG white safety

Is Trey Moore the only one we're still waiting on who was "on the fence" ? That and the mystery starter that started off today with a bang?

DJ Campbell

If Campbell declares he has some shitty advisors in his head. He is not a draft pick at this time.

Take the pancake factory money and anything else he can get here.

I think he’s a draft pick on physical traits alone but like ass end of the draft- way deep. It’s possible he wouldn’t get drafted but I’d be surprised if it was off the board completely. He should come back.

I had extremely high expectations for Campbell. Second only to Banks on the OL. He's been a pretty good guard but not overwhelmingly so, to my non-coaching eye. Would love to see him come back and lead this next wave of road graders and improve his own draft stock.

2nd portal window will be huge for us. Also if Ryan Day heads to the NFL, that could be big….you know if true

One less thing to worry about game 1 next year. Halfback pass right into Muhammad’s face and we’ll be golden.

All of those guys except Stafford are more mobile than Quinn and it has nothing to do with pocket presence. Just watch Stafford at his age outside of the pocket extending plays. Quinn is a statue compared to them, especially in college. Stafford is your closest comp to him but Stafford has a much better arm than Quinn

Mahomes had 800+ rushers yards and 20+ rushing touchdowns in college

Baker had 1000+ rushing yards and 20+ touchdowns in college

You're not trying to, but you're disproving your point. Mayfield and Mahommes didn't win in college.

(Yes. I would like Mahommes in the Sark offense.)

I was ticked off at Cook’s behavior after he left Texas. But seeing him implode in just a few weeks makes me sad for him more than angry. That dude has some real problems. This board alluded to them for a few weeks, but I thought it was typical surly hyperbole. It wasn’t.

I guess I'm not sure I understand what needs "rethinking" in this landscape. Texas is a have, not a have-not, but it isn't the only one and a few are bigger. If Oregon or Michigan or Ohio State wants to turn everyone else, including Texas, into a developmental school, then there's no recourse on our end. Dell, Hildebrandt and others with 11 figures are not participating with Texas. Guys like them or with even more money than them are playing roles for other groups. We cannot crowdsource our way out of that problem.

So, we're just "a" swinging dick now?

Combined, they have the same number of National Championships wins and playoff appearance as Quinn, and one more Big 12 championship.

Yep he needs to worry about his life right now, not football.

Yea I mean I don’t agree with the dudes premise but Mayfield won a lot of football games

I’d like this to be proof, as well as a lesson to you. And everyone, really.  Nothing I say should EVER be considered hyperbole. I exaggerate nothing, and I tell only the truth.

I struggle with this as well. He was rated higher than Banks out of high school!

This was always dumb and nobody with any sense thought this. I know what you are saying in the rankings and that was factually accurate.

Tell us why? I don’t remember you telling the rest of us how amazing he was last year or the years before it. Probably because he wasn’t. He knew where to be and didn’t get there. Now he’s caught up physically and we all love it. But I checked your posting history and I can’t find any predictions or defenses in favor of Taaffe in your posting history. So tell us why people rightly judging Taaffe on performance then and now is funny.

I have an easily searched posting history here. Feel free to be less passive aggressive and put into sharp relief for the board those moments where I ever dismissed Oregon or Ohio State as threats to anyone’s roster due to NIL, including Texas. Michigan’s backing from Ellison is new, the other two aren’t. So “now”? No. Always has been the case.

He still catches some shit here, particularly on game day threads. That video of him after OSU in the tunnel was an verbal expression of what I've seen him do on the field and the only reaction I completely related from the Longhorn team. I am huge fan and I'm happy he's coming back. I guess you could say he's my "Quinn".

Damn, Sir. You have way too much time on your hands.

I typically practice restraint when it comes to criticizing players unless it’s an obvious lack of effort situation. I know you’re part of the “white skill players can’t make it at this level” group, but some of us hold out for development.

I get it, you are projecting your own athletic failures on these white guys, it’s natural.

This is a non-response coupled with an ad hominem attack. You still have time to say “I got out over my skis and talked shit when I had no basis to do so, my bad. “ but you’re trending towards just being someone who needs to be condescending but has no history to support the rest of us being willing to let you pull that bullshit.

Is it breaking news that Taaffe got undue hate? He was better than Thompson and Crawford in ‘23 but didn’t receive measured criticism much less plaudits.

Johntay needs to get his shit together or he'll go pro in something other than freedom.5ddb638a8770c44a7f24398809678979.jpg

I said everything I felt needed to be said to support my position. If that’s not enough for you, I don’t really give a shit. You and anyone else could accept that shitting on a player and then eating crow is humorous to some people, but I guess it cut deeper than I thought. I also find you calling someone out for being condescending quite funny, considering your track record. This is coming from a guy who frequently conducts poster history searches to publicly call out individuals for being wrong. Does that hurt your feelings, too?

Some people really don’t have the maturity to admit being wrong.

Oh, you give a shit. And here’s the kicker, I wasn’t criticizing Taaffe in any big way a year ago. I just know that you are full of shit.
