April 25Apr 25 The funniest part of the Beck/Bert sideshow story on the previous page is that the loss to Stanford is not even that puzzling for Cristobal

It made me a regular listener except for whenever they go political. I need to listen to the first one again. They also have the part where Shepard talks about beating Wayz, which was funny and hit home as well.

I have a house overlooking Flathead Lake and one in Red Lodge, so it hits very close to home. Red Lodge is only 69 miles to Cooke City and an additional 89 miles to West Yellowstone. So, as the crow flies, I'm only 150mi or so from southwest Idaho. Oddly, West Yellowstone is in Montana but the maps show it in Idaho. A search states that the park was created before the states became states and had official borders.. And initially they just drew a big rectangle around the thermal features and said "this is the park" without any regard to the Territory (what Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming were before they were states) boundaries because it didn't really matter. Apparently as they were becoming states, Wyoming tried to buy the whole of Yellowstone from Montana (which now has 2% of the park but 3 of the 5 entrances) and Idaho (1% of the park and no entrances except the dead end road going to Bechler Ranger Station) but both said no.

There’s a podcast Dax did with Jason Bateman that was pretty awesome. Bateman tells a story where he and Leif Garrett, who was dating his sister Justine, took a few months and just skied all over the western USA. They were in a RV and partied their asses off. Think it was late 80s.
April 25Apr 25 Love me some red lodge. Sadly the one year we bought season ski passes the snow was terrible. When they have them, get the brewery to mix their chocolate stout with their cherry cider. have also stayed at a little motel in Cooke city with a fireplace in the room, down at the west side right before the buildings stop and it’s the road into the NE gate. April 25Apr 25 Makes sense. I saw more people in Texas high school football t shirts around the main Yellowstone sights than I ever do in Texas.

I would go to Schweitzer if I were you. But to answer your question, people are already fishing the Stillwater, Yellowstone, and Madison in southern Montana although water levels are low and the weather varies tremendously day to day. Around Flathead, it can be difficult to get to remote areas due to mud and snow. June will be fine though.

Great time to fish. And there are millions of spots all around.
