Would you settle for Kendrick Law in the portal instead?

Moore’s camp has told Bobby Burton that Trey Moore is returning to Texas. Nothing set in stone, but that would be a big deal, IMO.

This. I think the storyline will be an entire recast of starters on the oline; but because they’re all being developed along the same timelines, they will have all gotten so many reps together as a unit in practice and scrimmages. You’d have to believe they have already developed a certain amount of cohesion.

Even if DJ and Cam both declare

Is there any chance DJ declares? Seems like he’s got a lot of development still, especially in recognizing shifts and assignments.

Hopefully rehab. 33 straight hours? Yeah, well…

I’m not concerned about the offensive line, but this isn’t really true for Robertson, Neto or Baker. Robertson wasn’t very good against OU last year (understandable), and Baker and Neto don’t get real snaps. Even Hutson, who has played a lot of football, consistently grades out the lowest among lineman with significant snaps IIRC.  I think we’ll be fine and perhaps very good by year end, but we’re all aboard the trust the coaches train with the line next year.

Robertson was just fine against OU once you consider context. Hard to believe he hasn't improved since then as well.

Not sure I see a need. Maybe if there is a really high end, P4 all conference/Day 1-2 draft pick type but those don't often enter the portal in the first place.

Even if DJ and Cam both declare your starters look like Goosby-Neto-Robertson-Hutson-Baker, all of whom were promising prospects and have proved themselves to some degree. Sounds like the '23s are coming along pretty well so you'd have Chatman, Cojoe, and Stroh as key reserves. Agbo is still hanging around and has some experience from the 6OL package. If Campbell and/or Williams come back, even better.

OL really is a position you want to get your guys in early and develop them for a couple years and Flood's been able to lay the groundwork for that.

I think it’s pretty safe to assume there will be some attrition among the names you listed.

Why and whom? If 4/5 of the line is not here next year we would need every body he listed. I wouldn’t see any of them leaving.

I think our line next year will be:

LT Goosby - RS Soph
LG Neto - Junior
C Cruz - RS Fresh
RG Campbell - Senior
RT Baker - Soph

Hutson over Cruz. And if for some reason Hutson doesn’t start I’d assume he will be leaving. Started his entire freshman season and has spent the last two seasons being a part time player. He won’t go through another season of that.

I just don't trust him....as someone pointed out elsewhere he's played a lot but he's very lowly graded.

Seriously, of the options available and this is who they go with? Klein is recruiting like he is still at KState.

He doesn’t know anything else.  This is why you don’t hire an OC who has spent his whole career in the KState bubble.

This looks like a guy who either a.) sucks or b) really seems like a good, healthy fit for a run-heavy Collin Klein system at A&M:

Listed at 6'1", 235. Where exactly do you think we're playing this kid?

Zeno is smart to get one more season before osteoporosis sets in.

"Was told a few weeks ago that if Singleton goes in the portal, Texas would be one of the schools to watch as the Longhorns are one of a small handful of programs that Singleton is actually high on. Not sure of Texas' interest level quite yet, but I think Singleton checks all of the boxes Texas usually looks for and I think this would make a lot of sense."

Also, another Aggie '22

Remember that time the aggies made their bag dropping dline coach the interim coach for the bowl game even though he was already employed by Syracuse (and recruiting for them) with the idea they could keep the greatest recruiting class ever intact for the next coach so they could beat the sips in the renewal of the rivalry?

Akana enrolled at 19 years old, right? It didn't seem promising when he showed up to campus at about 195 pounds as an edge/LB tweener who was already old for his grade.

I thought WTF is Klein doing but then it hit me that maybe the better QBs do not want to play in his system where they will be heavily featured in run packages, translation get their ass beat for 2 or 3 seasons.

Aggy better get used to this.

I remember saying at the time that he was smaller than one of our starting corners. Always seemed like a weird eval to me.

I didn’t know jack about this guy and was too lazy to Google.

on3 says he’s freshman all American…

Maybe he can gain 70-80 pounds if forcibly over fed.

Why are lineman leaving when are roster is weakest at those positions? Don’t understand the akana thinking unless he knows we are getting big portal players

Yeah, being a battering ram is not appealing if you are capable of throwing the ball well.

Akana and Guillette had been passed over by younger guys at LB/EDGE in Simmons and T. Smith.

He probably wants to play somewhere.

He was probably told in so many words to go find another place to play.

Singelton would be real nice.  He's got really good hands in addition to being fast as shit.

Akana is like last on the depth chart and is likely a G5 player due to size and athletic ability. We took him in hopes that he could develop physically, he could not. He's not playing next year with Simmons, Burke, Vasek (I hope), and the incoming freshmen.
