Moore’s camp has told Bobby Burton that Trey Moore is returning to Texas. Nothing set in stone, but that would be a big deal, IMO.

I love masturbation preference arguments carried out by people who have a separate hard drive dedicated to sexy images of women they say they wouldn't actually fuck.

Especially on the recruiting thread.

Can we get an Mbawke and Williams double tap?  We just have so much youth and options at WR not sure if it fits

But taking two amazing talents in one fell swoop from Bama is tantalizing.

But a lot of WR money will be coming off the books as well, particularly if Golden leaves.     also, ketch doesn’t fucking know shit as a general rule.

My perfectly sober advice is, also, that big dirrr should go get paid.

And Jahdae is out of eligibility so a 5 star CB kinda helps a bit?  And according to what I just read Williams signed his transfer portal papers.

Apparently I’m a couple hours behind. Still, we could use a very strong CB to replace Jahdae

We want him. Need him to get to Austin so we can match the offer if it's not completely psychotic.

Max Olson: Early College football Transfer Portal Buzz

Quote

Five teams off to a good start

It's far too early to call anybody the Portal King for the 2024-25 offseason, but here are five programs that are quickly scooping up commitments through the first week of portal season.

c64bf6d8ce289c39570f12b737f38e8087b73318

Texas Tech: The Red Raiders are absolutely going to be buyers in this cycle and determined to assemble one of the best portal classes in the country.
Texas Tech has secured seven transfer commitments for 2025 and expect several more soon. The biggest win thus far was beating Florida and Oklahoma for Miami (Ohio) transfer wide receiver Reggie Virgil. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound junior is coming off a breakout season with 41 catches for 816 yards and nine TDs to earn second-team All-MAC honors.
They boosted their secondary with safety Cole Wisniewski (North Dakota State) and corners Brice Pollock (Mississippi State) and Dontae Balfour (Charlotte). They solved their need at offensive tackle with Illinois State's Hunter Zambrano, the No. 3 tackle in ESPN's transfer rankings, and Miami (Ohio)'s Will Jados, a three-year starter at left tackle. And they locked up an All-MAC defensive tackle in Skyler Gill-Howard from Northern Illinois.
We saw several programs shove all-in during last year's winter portal cycle with ambitions of making a run in the first 12-team College Football Playoff. This year, Texas Tech is going to be one of them. They're sending a message early on that it's Big 12 title or bust in 2025.

image.png.a2049801edf7d411219fefc55c997ad8.png LSU: The Tigers have already collected quite a few high-impact players for 2025. On offense, they landed one of the SEC's most productive playmakers in Kentucky's Barion Brown, the No. 3 wide receiver in ESPN's transfer rankings. They also found their next starting tight end in Oklahoma transfer Bauer Sharp and may have secured their QB of the future in Mississippi State transfer Michael Van Buren. They landed another top-10 transfer on Monday in Virginia Tech's Mansoor Delane, our No. 1 ranked cornerback, to go along with talented former Florida corner Ja'Keem Jackson and a veteran edge defender in Nebraska's Jimari Butler.

1a419dc30fdaccb599379feb484cf775225c4a97Ole Miss: Who loves portal season more than Lane Kiffin? The Rebels head coach has scooped up three Arkansas transfers -- tight end Luke Hasz, offensive lineman Patrick Kutas and cornerback Jaylon Braxton -- as well as two high-potential edge defenders in Princewill Umanmielen (Nebraska) and Da'Shawn Womack (LSU) plus a massive offensive line prospect in Charlotte transfer PJ Wilkins, who check in at 6-foot-7 and 340 pounds. Ole Miss is also in the race for top transfer receivers Eric Singleton Jr. (Georgia Tech) and Dane Key (Kentucky) as well as Alabama transfer running back Justice Haynes. Expect another big-time portal haul for 2025 from Kiffin and his staff.

Minnesota: P.J. Fleck is leading the way early on with 10 transfer commits, more than any other Power 4 program as of Monday morning. The Gophers landed one of the Sun Belt's best running backs, Marshall's A.J. Turner, to pair with leading rusher Darius Taylor, plus two more backs in Cameron Davis (Washington) and Cole Cabana (Michigan) for a strong stable of backs. Miami (Ohio) receiver Javon Tracy was one of the best in the MAC this season and was a big get, and Georgia Tech transfer Zach Pyron could be a steal as well. Minnesota also grabbed two FCS transfers who could be under-the-radar gems in Illinois State's Steven Curtis and Stony Brook's Rushawn Lawrence to boost their defensive line. The Gophers are loading up quickly with quality pickups.

645775c1e54873d0c005ffa7c4cb28ddf715d12d

Auburn: Hugh Freeze got his guy at quarterback in Oklahoma transfer Jackson Arnold. Now that he's officially on board, there's no doubt the Tigers will look to make a big splash in this portal window after a disappointing 5-7 season. They added one of the top offensive tackles on the market in Virginia Tech's Xavier Chaplin, a two-year starter at left tackle, and just picked up Miami (Ohio)'s Raion Strader, the No. 3 cornerback in ESPN's transfer rankings and a first-team All-MAC performer. They also found an intriguing sleeper in UConn transfer running back Durell Robinson, who was one of the most productive freshman backs in FBS this season with 806 total yards and eight TDs.

Are we in a position to not be psychotic as well?

My point is more… how is OU in this position going into year 4?

It's a tale as old as time!

Made a bad HC hire, who hired a bad initial staff including a ton of people with OU ties, failed the S&C program with that hire, then then didn't move on from any of them in a timely manner. That staff made bad initial recruiting evals, didn't format the scheme to match or maximize the players they had on either side of the ball, made bad transfer portal evals, had some less than ideal injury luck, and then didn't make coaching staff changes until they absolutely had to.

That's without considering that they ran off a heisman finalist QB for a five star redshirt freshman QB, then benched that five star guy for another freshman QB like three games into the season, then instead of sticking with that guy went back to the first guy, then spent a ton hiring offensive coaches to try to get a fourth QB in the portal.

All while their biggest historical rival loaded up an NIL death star, started developing talent, maximized scheme, made good coaching hires, got lucky with a few evals, won a conf championship, played for another, and made it to back to back CFPs.

If Venables makes it through the bye next year it's going to be an absolutele miracle. Texas / @SCar / Ole Miss / @Tenn is a brutal stretch.

There's no quick turnaround for them. They are going to be in the same boat Texas was post Charlie Strong, unless they can convince Nick Saban to come back to coaching.

Is one Damonic Williams worth a Jermayne Lole and a William Norton?

Saban wouldn't do shit with their broke ass player budget

Given the roster going into spring this year vs last year I'd hope we have the budget for all 3.

Those Double Eagle guys must have dropped a hell of an NIL bag

Yeah, Craver can play.

Craver has talent but not really a fan of what aggy is doing at WR unless they add some more proven production at WR.

Craver 368 career receiving yards, Hudson 123 receiving yards, and Bussey 179 receiving yards. They need some proven WRs to set a decent floor or else they're just praying some of these guys end up being good players.

Wow. There is a real chance OU finishes 3-9 or 4-8 next season.

This could be a huge pickup for Tech. They might be able to finish in the top 6 of the Big 12 or even beat Abilene Christian by more than 1 point at home if they land him.

This seems like a situation where they transfer to Colorado, and then transfer out of Colorado after Deon goes elsewhere.

Bringing them both on sounds like it also comes with other expectations as well.

Probably not cheap either, take singleton and move on.
