He’s probably looking for more money than we’d want to allocate, but he’s a really reliable, taller receiver who is great at contested catches. Not like he’s slow, either. I genuinely think he’s worth pursuing. But like you said, he probably wants WR1 money.

I understand the point and it almost assuredly works out that way. However, “how much money do you think you’ll make for yourself being next year’s Golden getting throws from Manning” can’t be entirely unpersuasive.
January 2Jan 2 Collin Klein’s offense is ass, my dude. But I’m sure they will just land another unproductive P4 or G5 receiver who will totally dominate and be better!
January 2Jan 2 Author 36 minutes ago, Burt Macklin said: There’s no way A&M would let their leading receiver transfer to Texas for anything less than crazy money. I’m not saying you’re incorrect here, but allegedly the guy wants to improve his draft stock more than leverage his transfer for a payday. The payday is a given, of course, but if they think Texas moves the needle for him, there could be something there. Texas has kept its powder dry this portal period. They’re going to get aggressive with someone at some point, surely?
January 2Jan 2 I see OTF is talking about whether Bond may return. No clue what they said. I was wondering if that was a possibility. I know Bond was projected as an early round pick but he hasn't been healthy in a couple months.
January 2Jan 2 Fong with a portal update that mentions Texas a few times. Texas A&M WR Noah Thomas Sources tell On3’s Steve Wiltfong and I expect Miami, Texas and Georgia to be in the mix for wide receiver Noah Thomas. The Aggies are doing everything they can to keep Thomas in the fold. USC WR Zachariah Branch Miami is currently hosting USC wide receiver Zachariah Branch and his brother, Zion, on a visit, a source tells On3’s Steve Wiltfong. The brothers have previously visited Georgia and Arizona State. Tennessee and Texas have also entered the mix. Tennessee WR Squirrel White Tennessee wide receiver Squirrel White is currently visiting Florida State, a source tells On3. It is White’s first visit since entering the transfer portal. Sources previously told On3 that White wants to play closer to home, and Florida State is expecting competition to land the SEC transfer. Arizona CB Tacario Davis Scheduled to visit Washington this week, a source tells On3 that Michigan, Miami, Ole Miss and Texas are all in the mix for Tacario Davis. Nebraska WR Isaiah Neyor After signing with Louisville on Wednesday night and later had the paperwork pulled, sources tell On3 that Isaiah Neyor is expected to be on campus on Thursday. The Cardinals have the momentum in this recruitment. Washington State DT David Gusta David Gusta will be at Texas A&M on Thursday, he tells On3’s Steve Wiltfong. From there he’s planning on getting to Kentucky and Tennessee. Florida State WR Malik Benson Tennessee and Oregon are preparing to host Florida State transfer wide receiver Malik Benson. He tells On3 he plans to visit the schools this weekend. Sources tell On3 that Kansas State is still in the mix for Benson. Tennessee defensive lineman Jayson Jenkins Jayson Jenkins is visiting Florida State on Thursday. He also has visited lined up to North Carolina and Texas Tech. Connecticut WR Skyler Bell Michigan recently had on campus Skyler Bell on campus and things appear to be trending the right way for Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines. Wisconsin RB Tawee Walker Tawee Walker is working on scheduling visits to Georgia and Cincinnati in the near future, his agent tells On3. South Dakota State RB Angel Johnson Sources tell On3 that Angel Johnson has received interest from Louisville, Tennessee and Washington State. He produced 1,134 all-purpose yards and 5 touchdowns for the Jackrabbits this season. Auburn is also expected to make a run at Johnson. Auburn defensive lineman TJ Lindsey TJ Lindsey is coming off a Purdue visit and is scheduled to arrive at Nebraska on Friday. Iowa State defensive lineman Tyler Onyedim Tyler Onyedim is currently at Texas A&M. The Aggies are battling Notre Dame, SMU and Texas for him, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong.

January 2Jan 2 If Thomas wants to go to a place with the primary goal of improving draft stock, is that all about stats? If he doesn’t trust that reed/klein can get him the ball enough, does Georgia have a proven qb to do that? Will Miami? With Texas I’d think the largest stats hurdle would be shared volume but we have shown recently with X that we can have a primary target that gets big numbers. or, is there also a technique or skill development aspect that one program or coach has that he wants in order to polish his game? I know nobody here can answer for him specifically, so maybe just a more general question on how players view “improving their draft stock”
January 2Jan 2 Always thought “improving draft stock” means “showcased in an offense that will help me put up bigger numbers” Aggy’s offense isn’t built to do that for receivers. This isn’t JFF to Evans anymore

I know nobody here can answer for him specifically, so maybe just a more general question on how players view “improving their draft stock” If Texas is actually involved, Gerry, Burton and Nahlin will all hear about it even if Texas isn’t saying much, simply because the guy is a product of THSFB. So on this particular recruitment, we might get some good insight. My point about draft stock was more than he was not allegedly happy with where things stood for his NFL prospects after getting a grade or feedback of some sort. Does that make him feel like he needs to be in front of a larger audience? Did they say route running sucked? Was the feedback that he’s unlikely to test well given their current data projections? No clue. The fact that ATM has become a black hole for WRs with respect to the NFL draft isn’t helping. One guy, going in the 5th round, getting taken in the last 6 drafts is a problem.
January 2Jan 2 There has got to be a good chance Golden is going pro with the crazy good close to the season he is having. I doubt Bond will be back. He's going to be draftable based upon measurements and production, when healthy. I don't think he can increase his draft stock a great deal. I think a one year portal WR makes sense.

They lose a lot on their DL, so they’re probably going to have to be less picky there. This was the year for Tennessee to make a splash on the field. They had a pretty easy SEC schedule, and I don’t think their defense will be this good again for a while.

January 2Jan 2 I know Bond is blazing fast and has likely still injured but he's essentially been a non factor since before ou I feel. I'm not sure a recall him making a significant play outside of the the UGA TD in our 1st match up. If anything, I seem to recall a lot more negative plays where he looks lost on a route, bad hands, bad blocking, and poor effort. He was making a lot of plays for us prior to his injury so I'll give him the benefit of doubt and assume he's still injured. I think coming back for another year could definitely improve his draft stock. Not sure I'd touch him in the 1st two rounds considering what he's put on film after the 1st 4 games of this season.
January 2Jan 2 He doesn't have great hands or run good routes. He definitely could work on some things. The ankle injury took away his ability to just outrun everyone and he's struggled to get open since.
