April 23, 20241 yr Calhoun was awful for OU last year and has followed that up with an abysmal season at UTA.

April 23, 20241 yr I know it's a Tuesday night game, and it's a poorly aging metric.....but 7.71 ERA v. 7.92 ERA? My old weeknight beer league had better pitching lines.
April 23, 20241 yr So does Pierce go and hang with Occupy LF (technically outside the stadium) or just watch in his office while pacing back and forth hoping we don't hit 9 batters?
April 23, 20241 yr Just now, zlavydra said: Baylor Rodriguez is in charge tonight? I'd assume so. He will handle the in-game stuff. Not sure what the pitching will look like. I think Chris Gordon was calling the pitches after Pierce got tossed but he isn't allowed to make mound visits, etc since he isn't an on-field coach. Maybe they can get some type of waiver for him to do that tonight? I'm sure most of the game will be mapped out beforehand with Pierce around. This guy is first out of the pen, bring in this guy if you get in this situation, etc.
April 23, 20241 yr Porter Brown back in at DH tonight. Galvan catching a midweek game which is a change.
April 23, 20241 yr Fingers crossed, but I have a pentagram already drawn and live chicken on standby.
April 23, 20241 yr Porter Brown had built up more goodwill than O'Dowd but I am quickly running out of hope. At least he is still walking at a respectable rate. I don't know what you can do at this point other than cross your fingers. It's game 42.
April 23, 20241 yr I mean, Tommy Farmer, Oliver Service (looked solid when we emptied the bench against UTRGV), just give those at bats to anyone who has a chance to get better.
April 23, 20241 yr Mike Hardball Hardge joins Craig on the radio broadcast. Peirce is not at the facilities, even his office at the Disch. He was on the field earlier today coaching. B-Rod is acting coach.

April 23, 20241 yr Would be cool if Charlie can really find it again. Having him able to go 3-4 innings out of the pen could be a huge asset
April 23, 20241 yr His oppo power is wild. I guess that’s not quite oppo but honestly I dunno that I’ve seen a guy for us that can so consistently leave the park to the opposite field Edited April 23, 20241 yr by hobbes2702

Aggy: “he hits a lot of hr but his other stats are just ok”… me : He wasn’t so consistently oppo. Lots of pull hitting from him. I and others early this year talked about Max reminding us of him though. Not sure if you were in that convo Edited April 23, 20241 yr by hobbes2702

April 23, 20241 yr I’ll maintain my stance that the increase in velocity is the main thing that is hurting him. When he is 89-91 he is at his best. 92-94 the sinker flattens out and he loses it.
