Some people can’t understand a world where 3 QBs aren’t drafted in the top half of the first round.

Jaxson Dart projected to be top ten pick

I've never really paid a ton of attention. When there are a lot of Longhorns or some first rounders I peak in to get an idea. If someone took all the picks of all the goons, then came up with an aggregate average (which might already exist) they'd make a lot of money keeping people like me happy. There are a few opinions I'll listen to in depth, the Joel Klatt/Warner QB discussions for example, which give some insight above and beyond picks from guys with a goodly amount of knowledge on the topic. Otherwise, it seems like most of them are throwing darts around other people's picks and calling them their own.

Didn't he have Willis as high as 2nd at some point?

I am not a huge fan of Dart, but he did have a great season. Nobody was close to him among SEC QBs. 10.8 per attempt on 69.3% comp. 29 TDs and 6 Ints. He led the nation in passer rating. He added almost 500 yards rushing. I wouldnt pick him top 10, but I can see why someone could look at the season he had and convinced themselves to do it.

I wouldn't use box score scouting for a Lane Kiffin QB

So what would you consider?  Or are you just discounting anyone coming out of his system?

I see that said here a lot. I have to ask, would you use the same logic for a Sark QB?

Mock drafts are for doom-scrolling, semi-retired, depressive-adjacent, bored / unimaginative guys in their fifties who don't want to work on their novels or fix the fountain in the backyard or call the contractor again because he's ghosting them. Others too.

No

I’d certainly do more than just list out his counting stats

Nobody should use strictly stats to judge anyone anymore.  Everyone of these players has every game they've played in from HS to current on film.

Good call.

If they're dumb, then you've basically wasted your time giving an idiot attention.

If they're smart, you've wasted your time because many NFL front offices are going to do stupid shit anyway.

And if they are well connected, you won't know what's real insight vs what's planted misinformation.

Literally, there is almost no draft commentary that doesn't make the entire experience worse.

Gotcha.  PFF, like it or not, has him highly graded overall including #1 (believe that’s what I read) in accuracy from 5-25 yards.  And his 69% is quite a bit down the field too so it’s not built on checkdowns.  But he’s also been high play action guy so curious how that relates to more required straight drops.

Just checked NFL mock draft database.  There were 4 other Ole Miss offensive guys in the top 500.  3 WRs (57, 227, 303) and a TE (at 308).  Harris was at 57, and he missed time. He was not teamed up with overwhelming talent.

He has a ton of starts and many against high profile defenders.  For me, it’s always curious to see these late run up the boards.

You and me both.

Breer on Ewers

"Just as newsworthy is what’s happening around Ewers’s pro day. The plan is for him to meet with the Jets and Las Vegas Raiders today and have dinner with the New Orleans Saints brass tonight, with all three teams expected to send big crews to Austin. He’s already has 30 visits set up with the Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts and Raiders for early April."

tldw: throws nice, throws well on the run, doesn't read the field

Milroe? Seriously?

Is the Texas bubble field notoriously faster than Indy, which is already a pretty fast track?

I always assumed they did 40 times on a track surface at pro days.  Pro days for all schools generally have faster times compared to Indy.  The combine isn't on a track surface it's just the artificial turf, which is faster than natural, but not faster than a track surface.

They both run on field turf. Difference is how they make you start/restart in Indy.

Typo. Supposed to be 300.

Every NFL team can have 30 players visit, so reporters call those a "30 visit" similar to an official visit in college.
