May 19, 20241 yr I noticed a tear in our living room ceiling. My initial thought was water damage from a roof leak. I noticed this spot recently so it could have happened after the mega wind storm that hit austin last week but it could have been there before. The tear occurs just below the seam of the drywall From the exterior I do not see any missing or damaged tiles. I went back inside and noticed some cracks at the joint of the ceiling and the wall. Is this a water leak issue or a foundation issue.
May 19, 20241 yr If it was due to water there would be some discoloration. That definitely looks like it was pushed up.

May 21, 20241 yr I'm suggesting it isn't any slab / foundation / framing movement issues. Do you have any kids?
May 22, 20241 yr Author I'm suggesting it isn't any slab / foundation / framing movement issues. Do you have any kids?Yes. They don’t tend to hang out in the living room so I dont suspect hit it with anything. I am comfortable knowing you don’t suspect any major issues. I’ll just get a guy to come in a patch / fix. Thanks all
