Non-Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Hide the Money, There's Poor People Around

If these dudes ever actually make it to Tech Campus, it'll be funny to see them all transfer within a year or 2.

Why, do you think we're going to run out of money to pay them?

Hadn't thought of that. I was just thinking these are dudes who can go anywhere. When they realize they have to actually live in Lubbock, they are going to re-evaluate their life decisions. Or if they produce, they'll want to move to a bigger program for more money and better draft standing.

I for one hope these guys stick at Tech. We don’t play them, and them pulling these guys keeps them away from SEC foes.

I think it was Gerry who said that at some point (one would think after they are on campus) they are signing 3 year contracts.  They better hope their representatives are actual agents that have their best interest at heart, because someone needs to read the fine print.  You know, in case there's a clause buried in there that binds them to Tech if they are difference makers, and a clause that allows Tech to sever the relationship without paying out the remaining contract, you know, in case they are not difference makers.  Too bad lawyer Mike Leach is no longer with us, I bet he would have a few things to say.

Too soon...

To be fair, one of the things he would say is don't sign a contract with Texas Tech, because they'll just use sovereign immunity to get out of it.

Yikes.  Didn’t see that one coming

Redfaced Bryan Kelly rant about NIL incoming.

That’s been about 6 months in the making.

The plot thickens. Also weird that his mom would post anything like this..

Penn State is down to 4 commits the night before signing day, and could lose even more. And they still don't have a coach, Kalani Sitake just turned them down to stay at BYU. They clearly had no plan whatsoever after firing Franklin, and Franklin raided their class as soon as he got to Va Tech.

Of those 4 commits 1 recently took an OV to VT and 2 of them recently took OVs to Colorado. So they could be down to 1 commit tomorrow.

Complete portal rebuild for PSU?

Sounds like a job for the one and only, Coach Prime!

Or, maybe, Mike Norvell, since that has worked out so well for both of them...

Hope Curtis signs with Vandy today... bulldogs may have to go shopping in portal for a backup QB

Penn state at 1 commit and 1 that might cut bait. I’ve never seen anything like this before for a program like that. How do you even recover from that?

Karma for Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno

Man, they had some real schools in that group, too. Did Rhule start recruiting like he was already signed on at Penn State?

In one of the replies, someone mentioned their entire roster is freshman/sophomore, so they didn't do much HS recruiting.  While I can see that angle, it feels like copium.  If you're going to only go after a couple of HS kids, you'd think they'd have aimed a bit higher than 7 3*s.
