April 13Apr 13 Author This back 4 is shambolic right now. Quansah is not a right back. VVD and Konate’s standards have dropped. Robbo every week runs around like a headless chicken trying to be the hero.
April 13Apr 13 Szoboszlai subbed on in the 68th minute and had 6 touches in 29 minutes. This midfield is tired and toothless and Harvey Elliott couldn’t buy his way onto the pitch. Fortunate set piece at the end because West Ham utterly dominated us for the entirety of the second half and Alisson made a few brilliant saves thankfully.

One of the common complaints with Klopp was his undying loyalty to the same stable of players and we’re in the same frustrating rut right now. I just don’t understand why Endo, Elliott, and Chiesa can’t find their way into a game.
April 13Apr 13 A lot of that stable will be gone in the offseason. TAA being out throws a major wrench into the offense. It's a challenge Slot will need to overcome going into next season. We're on our way to the title because we've lost 2 matches all year, not just because Arsenal stepped on rakes. Maybe Elliott and Chiesa just don't show him enough in training to get on the pitch over Gakpo. Endo is always the lock it down sub but the game was tight. I think saying we're able to win the league due to Arsenal not being good kind of shits on the totality of what the team has done the entire season. The defense was getting clean sheets left and right for a good portion of the year. That's how you win the league. Go count up how many clean sheets we've had this year. I get being frustrated but we won. 6 points and we're lifting a cup, something that rarely happens when your name's not City.

No clue on Chiesa but our big issue is that we haven’t had our #8 that plays right back. Our creativity is gone without TAA. Elliot and Endo don’t solve for that. FFS we have 6 more wins than the next best club. Edited April 13Apr 13 by hobbes2702

His problem is he’s not physical and that seems to be the only trait that Slot cares for. Elliott / Bradley / Salah linked up very well against Fulham and nearly pushed us to a draw. Elliott was the best player on the pitch when he came on against Newcastle in the cup final and played three incisive balls into the box in a short period of time that we don’t usually see from a our MF (one which led to the Chiesa goal). There’s just no way you can look at Jones / Szobo’s recent non-impact and tell me he doesn’t deserve a look. Leicester is probably the perfect match to try it, but I’m sure it’ll be Grav / Macca / Szobo.

He has some creativity but leaves us massively overrun in the midfield and doesn’t provide any real pressure because hes not athletic enough. Slot’s style of play requires at certain level of athleticism that Harvey simply doesn’t have.

I think the Harvey point is right theoretically, but our midfield has been overrun for several weeks now because of tired legs and a disorganized press so I don’t see how it’s any different? West Ham marched through to the final third with little to no resistance for 40+ minutes.

April 17Apr 17 Author Got the most important signings done. So glad to have Mo and Virgil stay. Now is the time to line up everything else we need to replace/swap this summer.
April 17Apr 17 Damn straight. To do all of this in his first year is the story. I really don't give a shit that we went out in the FA Cup or lost the dumb Carabao Cup. That's just silverware to jerk off to. We may find we went up against the eventual UEFA champs and there was no shame in losing to them. 6 points from a title with 6 matches to go. I'll take that wobble any year. Happy to wake up the VvD news. We're going to have a ton of transition this offseason but the two core offensive and defensive guys are in place.
April 20Apr 20 Back up in your ass with the resurrection https://x.com/LFC/status/1913959680113627326 Since Pearce hasn't written the lineup in a form that's easy to cut and paste: Alisson, VvD, Konate, Tsimikas, Bradley, Szobo, Gravenberch, MacAllister, Gakpo, Diaz, Salah Bench: Kelleher, Endo, Nunez, Jones, Elliott, Jota, Robertson, TAA, Quansah Edited April 20Apr 20 by mdmost
April 20Apr 20 Author This is Arne telling the front office/ownership that we need a LB and striker this summer.
April 20Apr 20 Author Bradley is not good enough to replace Trent as starter. Not to mention he’s injured 50% of the time.
April 20Apr 20 Leicester has been outscored 25-3 since the end of January and this attack is lifeless (again).
April 20Apr 20 I know it's probably 10% chance but I hope the managerial change gives him some pause. They'll build a statue to you at Anfield.
April 20Apr 20 Insane goal by Trent given the circumstances. I have no idea how Jota hit the crossbar from four feet out when the keeper was out of the net. Hold on for dear life.
April 20Apr 20 Konate is having a bit of a WTF kind of game with his ball decisions. Edited April 20Apr 20 by mdmost
