April 6Apr 6 As a team, Southampton isn’t bad, but very disjointed. Individually they are very outclassed one on one. Spurs should do what they can to keep the pressure up and hopefully score a second goal before the half, put this one to bed.
April 6Apr 6 I like that we’re in the 11th minute of 7 minutes stoppage. oh wait my math was all screwed up. Edited April 6Apr 6 by Captain Ron
April 6Apr 6 How was that not a yellow? That seems pretty black/white. Edited April 6Apr 6 by Captain Ron
April 6Apr 6 Well if this stands, that will be that. And it does and it is. Edited April 6Apr 6 by Captain Ron
April 6Apr 6 I'd like to have seen BJ get a shot at a hat trick there, but letting Tel get his first is okay too.
April 10Apr 10 It's a good thing that Ange doesn't have the force, because that dude has some fucking thin skin. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/apr/09/ange-postecoglou-tottenham-europa-league-quarter-final-eintracht-frankfurt

You’ll be happier when he’s gone.

Maybe, but IMHO, like other here (@Schulz2.0), I think the problem isn't COMPLETELY the manager and more on the club. What I would like is a real fucking plan from the organization! Since they dumped Poch with little to no plan, the managerial job has been a rotating door! Mourinho (2019–21) - hired mid-season, fired mid-season Masoni (2021) - interim Nuno (2021) - fired after 17 games!!! Conte (2021–23) - hired mid-season, fired mid-season Stellinii (2023) - interim and we had to fire him Masoni (2023) - interim Postecoglou (2023–) If you include Poch in that, you're talking 8 managers across 5 seasons (which is now 6 seasons)!!! WTF!?!?!?!? The club is a mess and while maybe the manager is wrong, this is like complaining about the table settings on the fucking Titanic.

We lost it quickly after the UCL Final. Not signing anyone for 18 months had a cumulative effect that showed up the last few months of '19, and continued with Poch and Mourinho and Conte. Maybe the focus was on the new stadium, maybe ownership was cheap or incompetent, either way, Spurs haven't recovered. Poch ain't without his faults, but the current state of Spurs isn't all his fault for sure.

Poch ain't without his faults, but the current state of Spurs isn't all his fault for sure. I'm not even sure it was that late. I think the front office lost the plot before the UCL final. Poch would be gone less than 6 months after that final, but clearly the issues had started before his firing and likely before the UCL final. The stadium would open in April of that year and that was a big moment for the club. One thing that went out with Poch, and very possibly before - was his vision of what to do with the club. And without a path of what to do, they are going to be lost. Good read that addresses some of this: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5928008/2024/11/19/pochettino-fifth-anniversary/ Anyway - who knows? But going back to the Ange talk - I just hope the team stick with him more for consistency and seeing if they can keep advancing. I don't see what firing him will get you.
April 10Apr 10 Kulusevski being out of the lineup is kind of glaring right now. I feel like the punch he brings with the attack is just not there and totally missing.

April 10Apr 10 What a great sequence too for that score. The initial pass into Solanke, the pass to Maddison and the shot off the back heel. All nice! Edited April 10Apr 10 by Captain Ron
April 10Apr 10 With all these replays, I will say Porro really misplayed the man on their goal. He never closed on the man and then got himself twisted up like a pretzel.
April 10Apr 10 I really would like to see Spurs nab a late 1 maybe 2 to give themselves an edge for the return trip next week.
