Our counter attack is atrocious

I think this is where Kulu is so missed. He brings that direct attack that makes our counter dangerous.

I wonder if Spurs could get Gio on the cheap in the summer? Sure would be nice.

Lankshear got his 2nd start on loan at West Brom yesterday. Didn't score, but played well.Screenshot_20250413_062738_Chrome.thumb.jpg.bc877a2ec0e6e3c5298eedbfebfc8152.jpg

English account tweets about the goal before the Spanish account tweets about the game starting. Fucking hell, just burn it down already.

Time for them to be dumb and give up a goal.

Spurs were dumb after the goal, just get the restart and go.

Where do we see Ange now?  Are we going to rinse repeat and sack him before the end of the season?  Or actually give him time in the PL and look to win Europa?

I think he's done after the season. Regardless of what happens in Europa. I think the new CEO begins his tenure by appointing a new manager.

agreed and this is probably what needs to happen. for all of the valid points that have been made about this season’s injuries, the way the club is run or how levy and ownership support the manager, i dont know what anyone has seen from ange on balance that says he’s the guy.

I think if he wins Europa, he saves his job. But I don't think it's going to happen. This team is too disjointed to make it. They have the talent, but their defense is a mess right now. A ton of really stupid mistakes just pile up.

What ultimately his going to cost him his job is his stubborn sticking to his strategy when it ground this team down to a a pulp.

Honestly, for a long time, I was not part of team Ange Out because management bought him a bunch of teenagers instead of ready to win now players in their prime, but watching this team just do the absolute stupidest things and fail at some of the absolute basics has changed my mind. If we win the Europa League, it'll be like Ten Hag winning the FA cup and I don't think Ange survives to the end of the next season.

Winning Europa will be great because we will nab a Champions League slot. But what will suck is that we will still have a full schedule without a squad that can handle it. The team will be ground down again.

For those that don't know Spurs just hired former Arsenal CEO Vinai Venkatesham as their new CEO. Read details here:

The guy did oversee most of the Arsenal time under Arteta which can't be seen as anything but a success., he stepped down last summer and this team has taken a step back this year (due to his move?). What does this mean for Spurs ... I will leave this for Alasdair Gold to answer, he address this for the first 15 minutes or so on this:

I would like to see the rest of this interview - but the beginning of this quote does not instill me with confidence

This is his biggest issue. He has Plan A and no Plan B. Regardless of available personnel, he's sticking to Plan A. Zero adjustments.

I thought that was fine early in his first season as I felt he was trying to establish his vision and send a message. But at some point you have to play the hand you're dealt, and not the one you wish you'd been dealt.

I think the last few matches have shown he's lost the team as well. We'll see how they respond on Thursday.

I really think an evaluation of the medical staff is in order too. We've had too many players openly criticize the medical team for there not to be something going on there.

I won’t be surprised if we are down 1-0 10 mins in

I spent a little time looking - Spurs have conceded first in 7 of the last 9 games and they failed to score in 4 of those. Just a poor run all around.

Trying to play man city style, but we don’t have any man city players.

i know you all are still light years better than Southampton, but that was the same critique that saw us start our season with 1 point in 10 matches with Russell Martin - possession based, play from the back, Pep style. Difference was we were trying to do it with Championship players.

this has been my issue with ange, particularly during the height of the injury crisis in january when most here wanted to blame the struggles primarily on failings of the front office to properly back him. even if you've got an F1 you're not going to win many races if your driver can't or won't negotiate the turns.

Alasdair is not convinced anymore. He's wondering why Ange hasn't been fired - in this video he notes that Levy has fired mamangers that were in far better positions than Ange has the team in. Watch us make the Europa final, and fire Ange the week before the game.

would be a Spurs thing to do.

doubt we even advance past Thursday, we are playing shit football at the moment.

I was giving Ange the benefit of the doubt with all the injuries, but we got defense back and still playing like ass.

I was us to win more than I want Ange in

I thought I saw this here, but looking back in the thread, I'm not seeing it, so here you go.

This wouldn't make any sense unless we suffer a Newcastle level embarrassment. Everyone basically knows that we've given up on PL matches. As long as we're somewhat competitive in the match, losing those doesn't matter right now or he would've been fired a long time ago. And we're far enough ahead of the relegation zone, so I don't think that comes into play either. Europa is the only thing we're playing for right now.

So even for Tottenham standards, as long as we progress in Europe, firing him for something happening in the league wouldn't make sense at this point. Except a Newcastle level of embarrassment.

The audio sounds spotty, but the visual is smooth.

It appears that the commentary was breaking the audio, they just cut it sounds much better.

That's a penalty.
