They just showed a graphic on how dominating Arsenal have been at home.

So I assume the final will be 7-0 to Aston Villa.

Partey is much better in MF; I’d almost rather Kiwor alongside Gabi XL and Timber @ RB.

They should here beaten us earlier this year; Watkins doesn’t miss those chances. This is a damn hard match. Still…

Let’s. Fucking. Go.

🚨 William Saliba MISSES Arsenal’s match with Aston Villa due to hamstring tightness, while Riccardo Calafiori did NOT arrive with the squad either. ❌ [@RyanTaylorSport]

Attacking options off the bench is Sterling.  That’s it.

We subbed Tierney at LW; wouldn’t be surprised to see him there again.

But never fear…. We’re not going to sign someone this Jan

This team doesn’t have it gents. Too many injuries too many missing pieces. They finally find some offense snd the defense goes to shit.

Make top 4 please

#1171

We have four fit attackers, one of whom is the shell of Sterling, and a match every three days.

Top 4 will be an achievement.

Pre-VAR review:

3-2

Please play some defense now.

Post-VAR review:

Holy fuck this handball rule is stupid.

I have no idea why Arteta insists on Partey at RB. Watkins’ equalizer in part came from Partey not closing him down.

At 2-nil, we should have subbed him for Kiwior (there’s a CL match mid-week after all), moved Timber out to RB, and gone to a 4-5-0 to see out the match. Hell, put Tierney at RB for the final 35’.

🚨⚠️ Arteta on William Saliba’s injury: “For sure we are worried, very worried”.“We will have more information. Another test on him and we will see”.

Sigh.

🚨 Arsenal centre-back William Saliba is set to be out of action for the next two weeks. (@lequipe) #AFC

He’ll miss Zagreb, Wolves, Girona, City, and Newcastle (League Cup).

I’m tired, Robbie.

Can we not play Partey at RB.   Leave Timber there and play Kiwior or Calafiore at CB if he’s healthy (lol)

You’d think Arteta would try something different: We’ve dropped points in every match Partey has started at RB this year. Not blaming him; it’s not his position.

Injuries, bad luck, and Arsenal’s season—yeah, it really is that simple. Before we start pointing fingers, let’s take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Thoughts on why Arteta deserves more credit than criticism. By @supplyanddemandrew.bsky.social. https://youaremyarsenal.com/injuries-bad-luck-arsenal-season-2024/

So, the headlines. Nwaneri and Calafiori are involved in today’s session. Still no sign of Tomiyasu, White or Saliba.

Failure to convert early dominance into more than one goal. Where have I seen this story before…

Calafiori and Nwaneri are back with the team... But Now MLS is injured.  LOL fucking cursed season.

Hopefully just tired legs; he’s still only 18 & not used to 90 mins every three days.

Kai Havertz has four goals and one assist in his last six Champions League matches.

Havartz likes the Champions League.

Arteta on Lewis-Skelly: "With Myles there is nothing serious on the scan. We will have a meeting with the medical staff today." Arteta says Lewis-Skelly and Saliba could play tomorrow, but if not ready, they will be available next week.

“Arsenal are working on a deal to sign midfielder Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg.

Dialogue between the clubs and with the player’s representatives is advancing, as Arsenal try to land the 18-year-old Norway youth international.

However, a firm decision on his future has yet to be made and no agreements are in place — meaning the situation remains open.

Nypan is regarded as one of the best prospects in Europe, having made his Norwegian league debut in 2022 aged just 15. In May 2023, he became the youngest player to score in a League match for Rosenborg — just 16 years and 145 days old.“

Ornstein via The Athletic. The Norway captain as The Arsenal captain should help. You’d think.

Today’s teams. Odegaard out with illness, Merino with a knock.

What I'm calling Arsenal's Big Three -- Saka, Odegaard, Saliba -- have all been in the Premier League starting XI in 10 of 22 matches this season. Include Rice and it's just eight. There has been one starting XI since August to contain White, Rice, Saka, Saliba and Odegaard (Chelsea, away).

The bench for today has… two GK and four left backs.
