Solid W.  Let’s hope Timber is ok

Jurrien Timber looks pretty happy as he signs autographs and poses for pictures near the players’ lounge.

Hopefully just a precaution. We also need to keep him healthy, since Tomi will go play 180’ for Japan and come back injured.

Arteta on Timber:He was unbelievable in the first half but he felt something muscular and he wasn’t certain. He’s played more minutes than we would have wanted in the past few weeks and we have to manage him. https://t.co/WrtMJLRjb4

Well, (maybe) damn. Really really hope this isn’t serious and a bit of rest & treatment is what’s needed. Timber is such a great addition to the club.

Also, Arteta mentioning this hopefully keeps him at London Colney and off Netherlands duty for the upcoming window. Now that I think of it, Arteta needs to do the same for Saka, Rice, Thomas, Havartz, Trossard, the Gabis…. Errbody.

Mikel Merino: "I think I am a much better player now than I was four weeks ago... The mentality that they have here is amazing, not only on the pitch, but at the training ground." https://t.co/hx53woYNbh

Yup. Seems to be a callback to the 2007-8 away kit, which is one hell of a kit. The 2005-6 home kit (a special edition in honor of Highbury’s final season) was fire, too

Three points an onward.

Gabby Jesus seems lost and in a bad way at the moment; it’s like he’s way overthinking every moment and not making the smart play. Hasn’t been the same player since the 2022 WC. Martinelli, otoh, seems to have found his mojo.

Nice to see Tomi back. And no Japan duty hopefully means he’ll be healthy for a while.

Wish all our guys would pass on international duty.  Arsenal have a top 7 back 4 that missed out on todays match.

Calafiori has a signature move I saw this morning.  I looked for a video to post, but couldn’t find one.  He goes in for a slide tackle and it looks like a poorly timed tackle, but then he spins 180 on the ground taking the ball, hops up and takes off.   Really cool and effective.

The sense right now is that the Havertz situation is not one to be overly concerned about. He was fine to finish the game on Sat. But he's played a lot of football, so it was thought best for him to stay, rest and just be monitored by Arsenal over the next few days. No risks.

Havartz staying in London this International window. Wish all our guys were.

Thomas Partey is staying with Arsenal during the international break. Understand he has been suffering a bit of illness (not an injury) and so it has been agreed he should rest up for a bit after playing so many minutes this season. Purely precaution.

Now Saka and Rice need to come down with the flu.

Arsenal’s starting XI of players training/rehabbing at London Colney this break:(4-3-3) Neto; Timber, White, Tomiyasu, Zinchenko; Jorginho, Partey, Odegaard; Jesus, Sterling, Havertz#AFC @TheSunFootball

I wanna believe.

Sky reporting Øde has not suffered a setback and is till slated to return in November (bit will miss the Liverpool match). Bit of good news, then. We really, really need Saka for that one.

Carsley confirmed Bukayo Saka not a serious injury but just did not want to risk taking him to Finland. “Bukayo would have been close but it would have been unfair to take a risk with him. He’s a positive person and I expect him to be fine.”

The second part is what we care about. Hopefully Saka will be 100% for Liverpool.

Saka’s talent profile is unique that’s why people have a hard time appreciating it. It’s different to anything most of us have seen before. He’s is not “skilled” in the way past greats have been, in their combination of silky feet, explosiveness or savage finishing. What Saka… https://t.co/urfMVlBXE0
