It seems like both options in the screenshot below do pretty much the same thing.
They both take you to the first unread post.

It would be cool if the second option actually went the the first new post....
...as of that moment.  Like, the newest of the new posts.

But instead, it goes to the first unread post which is actually 44 posts old in the case of the screenshot below.
Does that make sense?

It comes in a round container. You put it in a round glass. Why don't they just call it "Roundtine?"

i mean, the first post is there.  The first reply is there.

Why don't they call it "Postine?"

X2.  It is somewhat frustrating at times.  I stand with @ATXbronco.

I didn't realize they did the same thing? What are you using it goes to the last post for me

Yeah, sometimes I want to see the first (oldest) unread post.

And other times, like on game day when there's a couple hundred posts a minute, I want to go to the last (newest) unread post.
Like, someone just scored and I want to see what people are saying about it.  Not view a conversation that's already two minutes old.

Do you think it's something that can be changed?

Btw, I'm building a Xenforo forum right now and I want to compliment you on the very cool setup that you've got here.

Is there a reason you chose xenforo? What are you doing for hosting?

It was the most recommended at the time a few years ago when I built the first forum when we migrated from vBulletin.
Well, someone else did the building and I did the theming.

Xenforo has been really good for us.  No issues with the forum software.

At the time, Linode & Litespeed were recommended by the Xenforo builder.
But our small forum costs have increased from $35/month to $165/month over time.
We've got a VPS with Linode on the shared 16GB/320GB plan.

I'm learning/doing all the build work this time around as we move from soon-to-be-EOL CentOS 7 to AlmaLinux 8.
I think I'm going to go with the Ionus 240GB VPS plan.  Super cheap and we're small enough to make the limitations work.

I'm experimenting with CentMin Mod for it.

DM me if you want help or if you want to host it out of our rack instead :)

Do we get the nice thing?

Do we touch ourselves?

I think you have your answer.

Hopefully this can be changed or fixed (if broken) before September?

Also, can we bring back the normal Twitter? I never saw any slowness with original X. Miss being able to click those links to see more info or watch videos.

And another request is to somehow let people show their sports affiliations.  There's a bunch of non-Longhorns people on the board and when they talk about "We did this/that" it gets confusing because it wasn't the horns. Like, add an icon for every sports team and then let people add that under their user emoticon?

I'm asking for a lot for someone who doesn't contribute anything other than screenshots.

Oh and another request is to increase in-post picture sizes because I post a lot of boobs screenshots that are more difficult to fully appreciate at just 800x600 resolution, because nobody wants to click a picture to see it at full size.

You're the best.

Oddly, you allow really large file size (thanks!).
You just limit the resolution shown.

Btw, do you use any plugins that reduce image file size after X amount of time?
I do that with the board I volunteer for.
Let people upload like 15MB and then after like one year, the plugin goes through and re-sizes images to like 1/10th of original size.

We also let them upload ~100MB videos and then I run a script that deletes all videos above X size older than X date.
