Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire

Featured Replies

I'm really interested to see if Reveille and Earley have a natural bond and if Earley willingly reaches out. Reveille is a huge part of our university and our athletics programs so if she has an instant affinity for Coach Earley, I think that will speak volumes to our recruits. If anyone could, please take and post video of their initial encounter. Any still shots of Coach Earley petting Rev would also be appreciated - would prefer if taken from side so I can see as much as possible of both their faces.

Too late

Trev was really impressed in the interview when Earley said he would take less money per year than Schloss and could also serve as his own hitting coach.

He ain't smilin' 'cause his heart's still in Aggieland

Only way for old Trev to try to save face... "See aggy, we stole coach from Sips" 😋

I finally bothered to look up this guys resume.  They hired a guy with 7 years total coaching experience all as a hitting coach.  Holy shit.  I mean, he might work out.

Word out of Belmont is they are now looking at cancelling SEC party today. Apparently Pit Bull is furious as his sound guy and dancers "won't shut the fuck up" about the Earley hire.

Stupid sip, he’s clearly the next Vitello

Longley was one of our best assistants. This is good for them but I don’t know how me mixes in with a first year head coach though. Interested in who that power 5 coach is.

So hiring a former P5 Head Coach as your assistant -- if Early struggles does this new assistant then become aggy Head Coach  🤔

IDK

Compare his resume with Tony Vitello's. I think he was just a hitting coach before Tennessee hired him, but I'm not curious enough to look it up. All I know is we hired the best HC in TCU and A&M's history.

Pretty sure the P5 coach being hyped up as coming on as an assistant is Jason Kelly at Washington. Was the pitching coach at ASU with Earley and spent a year at LSU before getting the head gig at Washington.

That’s not saying much.

I assume they are all going to drop the burner phone and had a contract signed after geogua game nonsense now?  I mean I don't think they can spin it was just schloss that knew he was leaving and no one else on the staff.

Vitello had 14 yrs of power 5 coaching experience before the Tenn job

So, aggy panicked.

Classic.

Well they were about to watch pretty much the whole team walk out the barn door to the portal so if this salvages a couple guys they prob see it as worth it...

Putting the ASU staff that never won a regional back together.

Hearing that Trev was at Oilcan Harry's for 12 hours yesterday waiting for the chance to speak with Earley in person. He had to be pulled out of there late last night as his "phone died" and he didn't realize Earley was waiting for him in CS.

Earley has 7 years experience, so this hire is TWICE as good as if we hired Vitello!  Whoop!

He has been kind of a disaster as a head coach, so I could see that happening.

Looch goes on a 30 minute rant about how they have make a home run hire on Wednesday.

Brauny goes on a diatribe about how big time coaches have already reached out to him about the job. Also on Wednesday.

On Sunday they hire Schloss’ assistant coach. Never change TexAgs/aggy.

So, we hired their head coach and they turned around and hired one of our assistants.

Sick burn.

They are now on the phone, trying to convince the SEC Network to break into their UT Day coverage this afternoon to show their press conference, I'm sure. That way they can spin it as a win over us in the news cycle.

And what the hell is it them with hiring former aggy assistants?  Buzz, Melk, and now Earley all brought back to Collieville.

At least Buzz had some success as a head coach, Melk a couple years running a program.  Earley just a couple years under a winner.

Is this where we are supposed to send CJ and Blake to Earley’s introductory press conference to ask the hard hitting questions

We should applaud aggy for their P5 head coaching jobs program.

We are going to send Ketch to put aggy catering out of business

Because nobody outside of that shithole wants to be there.

One of the best comebacks I’ve heard-

(jerk mouthing off to a very stoic, tough friend of mine): “I’m going to kick your ass!”

My friend: “Let me know when you’re done.”

It was all just A crummy commercial? Son of a bitch

It was all a grift.

Not even a shot at Earley because he is a really good recruiter and coach but this is nothing more than a mosquito bite, minor annoyance.

Will be interesting to see who Schloss targets as a replacement. Tons of young guys out there like Jon Littell at Austin Peay who have a bright future ahead of them.

My how the turn tables, Tennessee fans were all “we got you bro” with A&M fans just to have them offering free handies to Vitello behind their back. Where is the Aggie honor code for Christ sake???

So just like we all thought, everybody in the country said Hell No, I don’t care how much money you’re giving me, No.

Then Aggy said, Fuck it…see if Earley will take it.
