July 3, 20241 yr Trev Alberts who once quit his job because Herbstreit and Corso made him butthurt…real professional that guy is…
July 3, 20241 yr Contacted a search firm 2 days after Schloss didn’t show up to the 12th man meeting and somehow ended up with a coach that is under qualified. Yeah that checks out.

July 3, 20241 yr Popular Post In Pensacola for a family vacation, checked out a Wahoos game tonight with the fam. Sunburnt as shit and wore my Texas baseball jersey because it’s sexy and fits loose, 4 times while walking around had some form of aggy ask me if I felt shame for stealing a coach and being what’s wrong with college sports. I laughed and said if I’m what’s wrong then we have bigger problems. Dorks all of them, but the stadium is nice haven’t been back since I was stationed at NAS 16 years ago

July 3, 20241 yr Yall remember when Schloss said he loved the 12th man so much it made him cry? I’m starting to think he was being sarcastic. 🤬

July 3, 20241 yr He talked to 9 actual coaches, and hired the locker room janitor / assistant batting glove stocking guy?
July 3, 20241 yr 12 hours ago, jkates said: Plan I finally hit for Alberts. Landed his 9th choice. Doesn’t specify that he only talked to baseball coaches for the baseball opening. He may have considered a quidditch, equestrian or meat judging coach to lead the legendary aggy baseball program.

You don’t say anything except you identified Earley from the start as the guy, he had a compelling vision for the program, all the players and major BMDs were behind him and he was was choice #1 Instead, it sounds like they got turned down 8 times before they settled on the former assistant who was an unpaid volunteer prior and has less than, what, 8 years of collegiate coaching experience? All because he was cheap and held the team together

All of the names floating around for five days and you come up with Earley? It's good for keeping a lot of the team together, and stopping the bleeding so I'll give them that. Also smart coupling him with an actual HC... but then what? Who do they go to in a few years when this fails miserably?
July 3, 20241 yr 46 minutes ago, kevwun said: Trev will be gone by then, so it will be someone else's problem. I still can't believe the big goober left his alma mater for Collie Station. Unless he pissed off a lot of people at UNL, which is plausible. If not, he'll wish he stayed put soon.
July 3, 20241 yr I can't imagine he can stay anywhere very long. He has a unique ability to piss off everyone around him.
July 3, 20241 yr Lulz, and texags was claiming that Early had "hostage face" during the UT press conference... Best case is that guy just has a face that looks like he's captive all the time, but pretty sure I recognize:

Who do they go to in a few years when this fails miserably? This is the closest they've been in 85 years (itsbeen85years.gif), if they had no shot with any of the Top 10 or so coaches out there then this was probably best case for them. Promote the guy that most of the team liked, bring in a former head man as assistant, bring back most of the players you had last year, and try to make hay now. Then hope that momentum can be parlayed into good recruiting and an angry alumni base will throw more money at baseball NIL to get back at Schloss and the evil sips to continue the talent inflow. It's a gamble, but I think it's their best bet under the circumstances.

Ignoring the fact that they will start a sharp decline after 2025 when Earley will then be exposed for the inexperienced coach he is and Texas will be competing for championships on the upswing. FIFY
July 3, 20241 yr Their coaches in the major sports: Earley (Baseball)-no experience as a head coach Elko (Football)-2 years of experience as a head coach at Duke. 16-9 record as a head coach. Buzz (Basketball)-Been a major disappointment so far. What could possibly go wrong here with Trev Alberts running the show.

July 3, 20241 yr Add on to this, that some of the players got paid! Good for them. However, I wonder how many make more than the coaches! Could be awkward?

But why should they? As is a known fact that the personal weaknesses of even the most wretched scum will dissipate once they're imbued with the spirit of aggyland.

July 3, 20241 yr As soon as all those played jumped in, they had to go with Earley. Just to salvage next year. It will bite them in the ass when they’re all gone and they can’t pony up the same mid six figure NILs to other players
