Awesome

Exciting news! I’ll be handling PA Announcer duties for the @NHL #GlobalSeries between the defending Cup Champs @FlaPanthers and your @DallasStars! I am honored to be chosen by the league and thrilled to represent the #PAbrotherhood on an international level. 🇫🇮

having that in place could help the cause for moving longhorn ice hockey up to a varsity sport.

Not gonna happen unless UT adds a women's sport too. Same thing that keeps us from having men's volleyball.

Men’s volleyball would happen way before hockey. And about 5 other women’s sports as well. It will stay a club sport for eternity in central Texas.

Yep. That's what I'm thinking.

My first game of the season confirmed, October 19th vs EDM. I can’t help myself when they come to town, Connor is so f’ing fast. It will be my 3rd or 4th when they play EDM. I really want to go there to watch, I hear their arena is one of the best in the league.

Hey didn't one of y'all mention something about the Texas Stars moving to the Moody Center? Any word on that?

The Victory app is available in the Apple Store. It’s pretty badass. Some past clips, and other shit. 10/10 so far. FO Ballys.

Got Victory+ installed on my FireTv and Pixel... definitely have to search specifically for "Victory+" or won't find it yet (until a lot more people download it and goes to top of search lists).

Cool. Thanks. Found it on Android using 'Victory+' after being unsuccessful with 'Victory'. Still not on my LG tv though. I wonder if it's on Chromecast.

:checking:

ETA: Found & installed it on Chromecast, but no luck on my actual TV. Also, when I signed in on my phone, it asked me if I wanted to pair with my tv. I said yeah, & entered the code, but nothing happened on my tv & I don't understand how this 'pairing' works. Weird. Works great on my Chromecast attached to the tv and that's probably the easiest way anyway, but it's irritating that I can't figure out the pairing.

I noticed the promotional schedule has been released. lncluding....

Feb 2 Alumni Game (could be cool)
Feb 28 Black History Night
March 4 Pride Night
March 18 Noche Mexicana

Have the Stars had these pride nights before? I don't remember. Been to one in LA and it was actually kinda fun.

Yeah I did the same thing at first. It's crazy that it doesn't come up when you just enter 'victory'.

"Jamie and I have talked, and he said, ‘Let’s just get the year over with,'” Nill said. “He’s all about the team. I asked him if he wanted to talk (extension) and he said, ‘I just want to win this year.’ That’s Jamie.

“But we’ll figure something out. He’s going to be a Dallas Star for life.”

It’s been a busy week for the Dallas Stars. While I was in Dallas watching my Cowboys get demolished, I met up with Stars GM Jim Nill. My chat with the back to back NHL GM of the Year ⤵️ https://t.co/d8qEP2V2m3

What the fucking fuck is this game setup? Talking over the game, and shrunk down the screen? Hockey is already too hard to watch the puck. Please 8 pound baby Jesus don’t tell me they are going to have a shrunk screen for future games.

This is only a preseason thing. I think it's bc this game isn't being broadcast and since they're not at home, the probably only have access to the jumbotron feed. better than radio, I guess

Victory+ keeps freezing up. I have to exit the stream and go back in over and over. Anyone else having this issue?

About 19 times. I hit the back button on the firestick and then play.

It won't load the cast button on the app to send it to the Chromecast TV. I had to use the Google home app and send it as "show screen" or whatever.

Lotsa bugs. This does not instill in me a sense of confidence.

hopefully they're still working out kinks, but yeah, the Victotry+ app so far is pretty underwhelming.

get your peepers on tonight's game as the next two will more of the "Hockey Huddle' bullshit bc they're away games. the regular season can't get here quick enough

Stars vs. Avalanche preseason game expected lineups tonight at the AAC.Clearly, Colorado is looking for every ounce of competitive advantage by withholding their roster for this crucial exhibition contest.

Kole Lind looks like a prospect to watch.  I think he will spend his season in Cedar Park, but I would not be at all surprised if he gets called up due to an injury.

Bichsel looks ready. Right now the pairings appear to be:
Heiskanen-Dumba
Harley-Lyubushkin
Lindell-Lundkvist
Brendan Smith

I know they would prefer him to be in CP as well to get playing time, but I'm betting he's in the daily lineup before the end of the season.

I came here to see if this was an issue as well.  Hopefully tomorrow evenings game they will figure it out a little more.

the last couple broadcasts worked well for me - even the hockey huddle bullshit (which is what our last preseason game will be). I'm betting it will be fine come go time.

Pretty lengthy (and good) Stars preview in The Athletic. Start the season thread and I’ll dump it in there.
