June 21, 20241 yr it was fucking crystal the moment the shot was taken if you are off and standing in the 6 it's not a fucking goal

I don't question that Maignan can't and doesn't make the save regardless of the player. But you just can't be in that position and not expect that call to be made.

Maignan had clear sight and made no attempt at a save because the ball was already by him. Calling shit like that offsides is just another example of looking for reasons to disallow goals. The rule is about effecting the keeper. The keeper wasn’t impacted. He wasn’t blocked. And they haven’t always made that call. It’s been a really new addition actually. June 21, 20241 yr My take, because Dumfries was standing parallel to Maignan it was probably the right call. If he was ahead or behind Maignan’s “diving line” it should have been given.
June 21, 20241 yr Xavi Simons scoring a goal would have been pretty cool since he has been a player people have known about since he was 12 or 13.

From the side angle, I think I agree with the call. But I'm not particularly passionate about it; it's arguable either way. 5 minutes ago, Hagbard Celine said: it was fucking crystal the moment the shot was taken if you are off and standing in the 6 it's not a fucking goal Does the 6-yard box have any meaning when the ball is in play? I think that's the philosophical question at issue here. I think under the black letter of the rule book, but answer is "no." But I think the reality has generally been quite different, with the keeper getting a lot more latitude in the six-yard box than he would, say, at the outer edge of the area.
June 21, 20241 yr Just standing that close to the keeper is going to affect him. In the back of his mind he is thinking about whether the player is going to shoot or pass to the guy in the box. I've always understood that to be the reasoning behind the rule anyway.
June 21, 20241 yr as landon said it IS totally subjective and to those who say it's last 3-4 years we will have to agree to disagree

If those three letters are at the start of a channel, their goal is to draw eyes and in turn advertising dollars. That is their business model across all platforms and it has shown to be highly successful. They employ Urban Meyer and all of his baggage on Big Noon Saturday, after all.

June 22, 20241 yr Hmm. That's a tough yellow for me. The Czech got there first and they both slid in feet first so I don't understand that call. If anything, I would've given it to the Georgian cuz he was late.
June 22, 20241 yr Author Georgia really needs to go for it here. They draw Portugal in the final game, this draw does nothing for them.
