TV will be irreparably worse a little over one year from now. they didn’t make em like Chuck back in the 80’s and 90’s, and they damn sure don’t make em like Chuck today. every episode of Inside The NBA will be appointment viewing for me. I just hope he ultimately can’t help himself and ends up still frequenting the air waves here and there, even if it’s never in any sort of permanent role ever again.

Those will be big shoes to fill.

This fucking sucks. Not really because he's leaving TV, but because he'll likely go into politics after this. He was already mulling running for governor of Alabama a few years back. I'm tired of athletes running for office. He's funny and entertaining on TV as a professional clown, but I don't want this dude running a state.

Alabama could and have had much worse running that shit state.

Because the people who aren't ex-athletes are running shit so well.

perhaps, just perhaps, instead of trying to upgrade from career politicians to athletes, we have actual scientists and other for-real smart people in elected positions, instead of propping up morons like chuck?

Those people have actual talent and intelligence, which are not a requirement for politics, and may actually be a detriment.

If you would have told me that the 2026 Alabama Senate race could possibly be Tommy Tuberville vs Charles Barkley, I would have got up from my dinner table and walked out without telling anyone I was leaving.

You sound like one of those big ol women from San Antonio.

I'll believe this when I see it. His job description is getting paid truckloads of money to show up once or twice a week, do zero research, and talk about golf, food, and gambling. I don't care how rich you are; they'll have to drag you off the set.

Barkley was my favorite nba player back in the day. I don’t care about the nba now, but the early 90s with the Suns was fun as hell.

Agreed. Especially with amazon money. lol. He’s only 61 or whatever. He ain’t giving up that lifestyle yet.

His gambloor tendencies probably means he should keep doing it for a few more years
